Please compare the Ping and Callaway junior sets. Ages 9-12 range. Toss in anything else Im overlooking. The US kids are a little whippy for her taste. Punkin outgrew her Tommy Armors and I need a new set of LH clubs for a 44" tall girl. No pink crap, she is as strong as her brother and has a better swing. Time for a legit set.

Also, can I cut an Answer II down to 31" without issue?

The best 10 year old golfer in the world uses US Kids and they aren't too whippy for him. Granted he uses Taylormade woods, but the irons are all US Kids.

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

Nobody stocks the higher end version around here HH. Its all the regular US kids entry level stuff. They make two levels, right? Perhaps that's the difference? Maybe they are fine, I dunno, I cant tell the difference between the USK and the Hello Kitty stuff when compared side to side. We are talking with Mike about the VT stuff. Apparently lefty gear is now available but not listed on the website. Not to mention none of the stores that carry the USK, MaGreggor or Ping or Calloway or Nike sets have anything to sample in her size left handed. Only unopened box sets and very little lefty. Pretty tough when the girl has the stoke and I cant get her new gear because I simply do not wish to just buy her a Box O Clubs. Maybe I should do just that. I think teaching her to swing righty would be easier!

Hey Hitter, It just got real. I have found Mizuno jr. clubs on Rakuten. Too bad (or good thing?) I cant read Japanese or I might be burning up the master card!

I would be careful ordering clubs from a non reputable golf sight.

The US Kids makes a tour edition club. They are stiffer and for a particular swing speed. No one carries them in left handed. My son plays left handed as well. To see if she fits into them you just need to get a swing speed with her driver. You can usually get someone from your club to order them and give you a discounted price. They are much better than Callaway, Ping, Nike, junior sets. The clubs made for juniors by the OEM manufacturers are just toys in my opinion.

Wasting time on the Bay I found these. Looks interesting: TP _FPS graphite.
Please review and discuss. TM clones made of Chinesium? I could not find a review on Google so that smells fishy. Wish I could touch them. I am a club ho for my kids.

Interesting. So using my sons cut down recoil shaft as an example

41" to start (butt to hosel) cut down to 33"= 8" off

8" off x 12oz...I should be adding 96g to the head ?

This would be true for ADULT clubs trying to hit a specific swing weight. Most junior clubs are based on total weight. Cutting a shaft does change properties some however unless your tipping it more you are cutting off the stiffest part of the shaft. If you were trying to get to say D4 add your weight.

That is correct. I read some where (believe on Tom Wishon website about junior clubs, can dig it up)that it is impossible to measure swing weight on the 14'' Fulcrum scale for junior club so focus on total weight of the club.

When I assembled clubs for my son, I tip trimmed the shaft to get the flex we wanted and then butt trimmed to size. I also bought ladies shaft with the intention that trimming would make them close to senior flex.
