I was fortunate enough to meet Dave recently at a scramble tournament at Industry Hills. Couldn't be a nicer dude, I've been corresponding with him on the construction of a Cush Custom of my own. I seriously cannot wait.

Here are a couple for the collectors and purists. Not high end and no bling, but both famously good flat sticks with something of a cult following and very hard to find in this condition. They both still see some bag time.

 

First up is the 2009 Yes - 'Dawn' model. This is from a time when Yes made what I consider 'proper putters' before Taylor Made bought them out. At 345g it is a great weight and was designed at the time to be their 'flagship' model. In the words of Blair Phillips, their head of R & D at the time "from the materials to the shape to the finish to the grip, it is the best the industry has to offer in our opinion". Yes, well he would say that, BUT it is a great putter that puts a pure roll on the ball - CNC Milled from a one piece forging of 303 stainless with a loft of 2.5. Much prefer the original Headcover and grip also to the later offerings.

I have something of an addiction for 8802 style heads and this putter is one of the best OTR examples around - still. The Teardrop TD42. The tale of Teardrop putters is too long and convoluted for me to go into here, but they made lovely putters and this was the pick of them IMHO.

I was lucky enough to have owned one of Tom's prototypes for BLADE for a spell. Its been a very long time since that blade and I parted ways and to see one, again is a treat.

Got that on Ebay used with a graphite shaft years ago, sent it to Tom Slighter to refinish and those are his photos. I still game it but it's all dinged up again, battle tested so to speak.
