Best Driver in the last 5 years?

I currently game the XR16 and still get great distance with it and have been generally happy with it. I am thinking about making a switch to a new driver mainly because the new models came out and last years have gone down in price.

 

What is the best driver that has come out in the last 5 years?

 

How much better could the clubs really be getting if they release a new model every year?

2016 M2

G400 or G400 Max

I Agree with the previous posts and add LTD to the list.

 

There are plenty of great drivers to choose from in recent years.

 

It’s not like the big OEMs spend all this time and money designing new clubs to put out junk.

2016 M2 or 2017 M1 440

 

I can't hit anything as far and straight as I have these drivers. The 2016 M2 is more forgiving, but it just makes my misses go that much further in a bad direction. If I catch the M1 440 on a bad part of the face, the ball seems to be getting down a lot quick and leaving me with some better options. When I catch it on the (imaginary) screws, the M1 is the longest driver I've played.

I think my main question is when there is a new model every year is it worth the $200 extra to get the 2019 model opposed to the 2018 that just went on sale?

I'm still rolling with my LTD Black, which has just been incredible from day one. But, I haven't hit all of the newer offerings, yet, either.

It's closer to 6 years I believe, but the G25 was among the best. I've owned a LOT of drivers since, but that old G25 just keeps finding its way back into my bag. Shots that have no business finding the fairway miraculously seem to with it.

Technically, ALL drivers have have the same COR on their faces and head sizes because of USGA and R&A restrictions BUT for some reason, I keep seeing the 2016 M2 still being talked about even after its discontinuation. I'm not saying it's the longest driver made in the last 5 years but it seems to be a little more consistently longer than the others (just a little).

Yeah. It just seems to work.

 

I have a ping g400lst , just had to try it, I'm trying to sell that now. Normally if I buy a new drive I sell the old one. I kept the M2. I will probably try a new shaft or two. I have a synergy Black Proto I may try if I don't sell. I also want to try the Fuji Speeder Pro TS. It will most likely be my driver again this year.
