Sergio Garcia was disqualified from the Saudi tournament on the European tour for damaging a green in a fit of rage.

Not the first time he’s done something in frustration on the green !!!

As much as I feel a suspension would be warranted on this one, he’s got star and drawing power so it is out of the question I think from the European Tour and the PGA prob wouldn’t touch it either. All about the money.

As dumb as this is i feel sorry for Sergio. As well as he hit it yesterday he’d have shot 64 if he made even 40 % inside 10 ft. He made zero. And hasn’t really made a putt since winning then masters.

 

I wonder sometimes if this isn’t hell for some people. Punishment from a past life. “ hey you’re the best ball striker on earth. But you’ll never make a putt “.

JT was not suspended a couple of years ago, so I guess no.

Same with Hideki. Aside from Poulter’s twitter rant, no penalty was issued as far as I can find even though an official had to fix the damage.

I feel sorry for him because I’ve lived it. Albeit on a much smaller scale. But same thing.

 

His attitude yesterday during all this was great. He joked the whole round. Apparently today it came to a head. I haven’t seen the video. So I’m only speaking in the abstract. The bigger picture of the torment of hitting 14-16 greens a round. With good proximity and not making a single putt. For years. It’s enough to drive anyone over the edge.

 

I’m able to have sympathy for the guy without excusing what he did. He was wrong. Should have been dqed and fined. And no doubt will pay in embarrassment. But I still feel for the situation.
