I’ve been a Sergio fan for awhile but this is inexcusable. Not sure if I would let one damaged green go but multiple is a no go.

 

I defend rahm for his passion which is something that’s kind of cultural but this is just idiotic and he should have been dq’d and maybe even forfeit all or some of his appearance fee.

As dumb as this is i feel sorry for Sergio. As well as he hit it yesterday he’d have shot 64 if he made even 40 % inside 10 ft. He made zero. And hasn’t really made a putt since winning then masters.

 

I wonder sometimes if this isn’t hell for some people. Punishment from a past life. “ hey you’re the best ball striker on earth. But you’ll never make a putt “.

Damaging 5 greens is absurd. Especislly if it's bad enough that the groups behind him kept complaining to officials.

 

I'm surprised he was even allowed to finish his round. After the first 2 damaged greens they should of pulled him off the course and DQ him then.

Not the first time he's done something in frustration on the green !!!

I was working there today. He dropped a big F bomb after missing birdie on 8, then smacked his club into the green...it was up on the top shelf away from the hole, but still smashed. Reed's pairing was next, said nothing, but Campillo was next and pulled an official over and complained. He pointed out damage and was talking in Spanish with the official and then in English mentioned damage on holes 5 and 6.

Very little tv coverage for the earlier groups. I didn't see cameras until Dechambeau started. They may have had some on the final three holes for Garcia et al, but they didn't for the first nine at least.

I am exaggerating about the number of spectators, but it is VERY thin.

 

There are only 200 registered golfers....IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY... and all of them are probably there.
