Really think the flash colour scheme is a bust this year. The standbag and assorted headcovers look really insipid and dated.

I do like the Epic 4 iron though. Don't think they got enough love due to the ridiculous price point. If Phil used long irons more on the tee box he found have had a few more wins in my opinion. He generally strikes his long irons well .

Hi Toe > PM grind

Not even close. Hi-toe is a poor mans PM grind.

Or you both can learn to chip properly and buy a Vokey (LOL just messing around with you guys!!)

LOL!! Replacing my current 60 is going to be a hi toe 60-ATV or an SM7 60-12D. The raw is just so dang expensive, but beautiful.

I can’t get passed the offset in the PM grind. Not my cup of tea. Doesn’t fit my eye when I open it up. Guess that’s why I’m sitting at home and Phil is out there making millions!

Yup same. If they made the mods to it and kept the offset like the original one it would be in the bag. But I couldn’t get past the offset either.

I’d disagree with you , while shorter hitters can make a career , strokes gained off the tee has basically taught us all that we need to know about us using driver . Just bombs away

That's fair enough and distance off the tee is everything. Just think he could have been the exception to the rule with the rest of his game.

Problem being a 440 yard hole which is close to driver 9 -driver wedge would suddenly become a 240 (3iron ) 200 yard 6 iron . Good luck with proximity being another guys flighted wedge or 9 iron all day

I get your point for sure. Checked the status and less than half hit the green from 200 yards and out. Over the course of a hole you may not see big differences but over 18 and then full tournaments you start seeing variance in scores.

He'd end up feeling the pressure of trying to keep up and start spraying tee shots.

Still don't like the staff bag colours this year though.

Admittedly I haven't held the PM Grind 2.0 in my hand and I've only seen pictures, but that offset looks absurd. I enjoyed the shape of the original PM Grind but I felt like the bounce was too much and I had trouble flighting the wedges down. Supposedly the 2.0's have a different grind and it's easier to flight shots, so we will see.

Couldn’t find anything searching but has anyone noticed Phil is back to the rogue driver? This was captured on 16 tee today at Pebble (round 3).

Just said he went back to the old driver and will use it until after Augusta.

And went back to driving it long and online. Good call Phil. That setup is working

Noticed Phil puts the KBS 125's in the wedges, too. Are these the same flex but 8i shafts or does he play them straight in? I'm really curious to try the PM grind wedge but I'm not so sure how that huge amount of offset.

More questions about his wedges, does anyone know what the loft of his pitching wedge is? If it’s a true apex MB PW it’s 47 and his next wedge is 56? Seems like a huge gap

If you look through last year's WITB, you'll notice the 56 is bent strong to 53 degrees (and stamped as such). I suspect he's playing the same lofts in this new 2.0 version

Nice win - I hope he can continue the momentum to the majors.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Yeah I thought I remember him saying his sand wedge is pent strong 2 or 3 degrees, then the 64 is bent a little bit weak as well.

I play the original 64*. I don't notice the offset, I tried the 56* but I couldn't get used to the higher cg. I love the look of the big dinner plate out of traps and around the greens. With the 64 and a high spin ball I can usually throw it all the way to the flag and have it stop which is nice.

Offset doesn't bother me though in any clubs, so your mileage may vary.

Looks like the Stroke Lab is back in the bag this week. Or at least it wasn't the Versa. I couldn't get a good look at what it was.

Looks like a Toulon.

Definitely a milled putter. Doesn't appear to have diamond milling.
