NXT Tour

Picked up four dozen Tour S and one dozen Tour.

Are they marked at 10$ or do you have to take to register and see if they ring up at 10$. I wil make a target run tmrw. Never knew target had golf balls lol

Most are marked.

A prior generation in a very beat up box were marked $25, the refused to take $10 for them so I left them there, lol

I don't mind the regular NXT tour, but I can't understand the fuss over the S, which is essentially a 2 piece surlyn.

I haven’t played either but Titleist says the S is softer and maybe slightly shorter in the air. Most testers I read found little difference in performance.

I played the NXT Tour and other versions for a number of years. It was a good ball for my game and I was a Titleist ball fan but never felt I was good enough to play their tour versions. At one point I read (probably on this site) about the Gamer V2 and gave it a try - I was longer off the tee and the V2 performed better for me around the green at about half the price of the NXT. I have been experimenting ever since.

Local Target had 2 dozen NXT Tour S Hi Viz yellow on clearance for $8.98 today. I figured why not at that price.

I travel throughout the DC area daily so I have hit 10 stores so far. Found the $10 deal at the first two and none since. One, had the balls but they were $20!

And, it was in the same county as the other two. ��

I guess the closest from Titleist is the Tour Soft and Speed lines. I don’t think either is as good as the NXT Tour but the Speed is a good ball.

The Tour Speed is a conventional 3-piece TPU ball so it is nothing like anything from the NXT line.
 

The Tour Soft replaced the 2-piece NXT Tour S while the dual core NXT Tour was simply discontinued (Titleist has not made another dual core ionomer ball since). The Velocity is closest to the discontinued NXT/NXT Distance/NXT Extreme.

NXT Tour was a VERY good ball and performed very close to Pro V1. It was never confirmed, but rumor was it was cutting into Pro V1 sales so they discontinued it and made a larger performance separation in the newer offerings.

The NXT Tour was very close in performance through the bag to the PV1, only in short game spin was there much difference. The Speed is lower in iron spin but closer than anything else they make now for a lower price. 
The Velocity may be similar to the NXT Extreme, I never played that one, but doesn’t spin anything close to the NXT Tour.
