Stroke Lab 7s vs EXO 7s

Have in the bag and am a huge fan of the EXO 7s. I saw the Stroke Lab on the Odyssey Canada website for pre-order....$100 cheaper than the EXO 7s. Anyone compare the two?

I rolled the EXO at a shop last season, was just too light for me, like heavier heads, but the insert was solid, have a Stroke Lab 7s on order. I did roll it a few times at a Golf Expo, just seemed so well balanced, and like the color scheme on it.

Ya. Since I do like the EXO red and find it easier to line up...maybe I could just order a shaft/grip and install?

Decided to preorder. Will practice and try on the green then decide for myself after testing. If I end up selling loss will be minimal

They were out today in the PGATSS by me.

 

Insert looks like the EXO but is definitely firmer than both the EXO and the microhinge.

 

Only spent 20 minutes or so rolling the new models. Felt very nice and put a really nice roll on the ball.

 

Tuttle looks pretty kewl.

I went in to Golftown today in Red Deer AB and picked up a Stroke Labs 7, took it to the counter, and the sales clerk told me that their syste would not allow it to be sold until tomorrow (Friday).

The store GM called the Odyssey rep and he said "Just sell it". No deal though, the computer would not allow it.

No big deal, I'll go back tomorrow and pick it up so I can practice in the garage for the next 8 weeks.

i think it does promote better tempo. esp if you like to feel the head weight in your stroke, imo the feel is a lot better than the exo. you really get that pendulum effect with the stroke lab shaft

Sounds about right. It's $249 here in the States

In Ontario it's 13% hst. But I have a contact that can get it for a bit less. Have it ordered

Definitely prefer the EXO. Like several od the Stroke Lab heads buf would need to reshaft. Do not care for the light putter shaft. Feel was flimsy to me. I could not tell any difference between the EXO insert vs the Stroke Lab, but preferred the overall balance of the EXO.

Here is the EXO 7s and the Stroke Lab 7s side by side. The Stroke Lab more compact and smaller. Also heavier head. The face is slightly deeper with more metal above the insert. The way it is built along with materials gives the Stroke Lab a more firm feel. Both inserts look like same materials.

The inserts look the same but they don't feel the same; at least not to me.

 

The EXO insert was so soft I just couldn't get the ball to the hole. I feel like the SL insert is a bit firmer and I don't have that same issue.

Yes. Both putters do feel different....worlds apart I agree. But the feedback we feel I believe is because of the design. The SL being compact, heavier, and solid. The EXO being larger and lighter may be causing the feedback to be much softer

The heads are only 5g different though, right? SL feels heavier because shaft is lighter?

Rolled them today. Stroke lab over the EXO for me. EXO too light IMHO
