PHOTOS: 2019 Fujikura Ventus and Speeder Shafts

Recommended Posts

The Evo V Speeder shafts are outstanding! Higher launch, low spin with the best feel Fujikura has produced.

I wish they would release the 881 here in the US

Figuring out which fujikura shaft is designed for which player or purpose always been confusing to me, that being said im sure they are high quality shafts.

Intrigued by the shaft cam champ is using, the new tr, and this ventus, but the descriptions all sound similar

I couldn’t agree more. I don’t know how anyone that works at that company can look at their product line up and not understand they offer FAR too many products and MOST people are confused by it. It doesn’t help that the website is muddled and the descriptions are lacking.

I’m a total gear head and former professional fitter and I can’t keep up with their 8 million options.

I like the Atmos Black my buddy has in his driver and I play older 665’s in my fairways and an 8.8 HB in my hybrid, but I’ve stopped trying to figure out all their offerings.

Golf shafts are inherently very technical and can be confusing for sure. We do our best to educate of charter dealers and equip them with the information to make our products easy to fit golfers into. We also want to make our products simple for golfers to understand through our website and catalog, so please let us know if you have any specific questions. Also we strive to offer a wide range of products to fit any golfer because we know all golfer's swings are different so one size will not fit all. Happy to help any time, give us or your local Fujikura dealer a call and we can help you out - https://fujikuragolf.com/dealer-locator/

I've hit both of these. I currently game the Evo V, and a buddy of mine just put a Ventus in his F9.

Evo 757 V is extremely smooth. I am around 110ss but can top out at 114. The 757 handles it easily without losing it either way. When struck well it gives me beautiful little baby fades. The only thing that rivals the feel and performance was that Ventus.

If a new shaft is on your radar you owe it to yourself to try both of these. NO JOKE. Good job Fuji.

I’m toying with the idea of giving the ventus 8x a shot in my M5 3w.

Was talking to my fitter about the Ventus tonight. In reference to Tensei Pro White, Ventus will launch higher and spin a couple hundred rpm more. Equally stable in the tip as TPW.

Are you able to compare the Evo V and Ventus vs the Evo IV? Also really liking the sound of the TR661. I've used the Evo 4 alot of the last 18 months. Great performing shafts!

Evo IV will be slightly lower launch, stiffer in the handle, slightly softer in the tip than Ventus.

Evo V is more similar to the original Evo, but spins less. Also launching higher than IV.

TR is VERY low spin with good feel in handle and tip, very stiff mid.

Hope that helps!

I've got the Ventus 7x in my F9 as Yoyo said above. I played a few rounds this weekend with it and spent some time on trackman indoors last Thursday.

The dispersion of this combo so far has been impressive. Great ball speeds (F9 is fast anyway), but the Ventus brought a couple more MPH out of the F9 vs the atmos black TS 7x for me.

I love the feel. Very Fuji like to me with the whip kind of feel at impact. It feels like it punishes the golf ball at the bottom from just beneath the grip.

Nothing is safe in my bag!

Fuji - can you tell me which of the new speeders has a profile closest to the Motore 757 speeder you re-released in 2013? Thanks

I'd also like to hear from Fuji on this one! Wouldn't mind a backup if my trusty white Speeder ever fails.

Check a few posts up....

I game the Evolution V as well, I can report similar findings. I came from an ADDI6X and it was just too soft in the butt, I'd always lose it left if I went after it hard. I was fit into the evo V 757X and the results are amazing. High flat bombs, stock swing its a little fall off fade, if I really get after it I can turn into a high towering draw. Similar SS as you, so very pleased I don't need to fear the lefts anymore! I'm consistently hitting parts of the range that were previously glory shots.

It's smooth but still has a nice kick when you really load it. Unlike the ADDI, Id feel the head lagging way behind and flip to square the face and it was duck hook city.

I found this chart extremely helpful. I’m a long time Fuji fan and have the privilege of spending time with their team thanks to JD Serres of JDs Clubs. They are wonderful people.

I think Fuji has made huge progress in terms of understanding the differences in their shafts. The Atmos (high, med, low) was about as simple as it gets. The Evo line was tricky to be sure, but, I think the trend has shifted towards an easier to understand product line.

Finally, I think all companies struggle with the complexity of their lines. There are hundreds of posts dedicated to understand the Kuro Kage (Black, silver, XT, XD, dual core, etc). Great shafts too. ACCRA, too, has very complex lines and possibly the most complex....Paderson.

I know they are ALL working to make their lines digestible for us. And, I think we are getting there.

Just my few thoughts. Hope the chart helps.

Keep up the good work, fellas. Can’t wait to get my Ventus in play!

I'm wondering which of the current Speeders is equivalent to the Evolution Tour Spec that came out along with the Evo I. I've checked the legacy shafts section of Fujikura's site and came up empty. My guess is the IV? If anyone has experience or thoughts on this I'd appreciate the input!
