Does this really mean anything? Ok, he's an honorary member, so what does that mean? I don't understand; is it that he can play on the ET, when he desires? Or are they honoring him based on something that we should understand?

 

Based on his Masters victory last year? What about Speith or Phil?

If it's like an honorary doctorate that colleges hand out like M&Ms, it pretty much doesn't mean squat. But if this means he can tee it up over there anytime he likes, for the rest of his life, well that could be of some value.

I reckon most will understand it's a business decision by Keith Pelley. He appears to be trying to get Reed to play more on the ET (highly likely Reed has indicated he's open to that) and with the new schedule Pelley sees an opportunity.

 

I now expect to see Reed at events like the BMW @ Wentworth. Of course I have no direct insight but it feels very strategic to me.

Oh it 100% is. Pelley has no real power, the players hold it all and without them, Pelley doesn't have his ridiculously overpaid job, so he will bend over backwards to keep them happy even if it is Patrick Reed.
