Kicking this up since I'm curious how guys are liking them. Have been using the GP Tour Velvet full cord and might switch over to these. Typically go with +2 on the tape, so I'm interested how these might feel going in with just one wrap. Probably will pick up one to try in any case and go from there. Definitely liking the idea of the larger, non-tapered, lower - especially in full cord.

Also curious for guys who used Lamkin Tour Black cords (my favorite grip of all time) and what they think as the Tour Black’s are drying up, I might have to turn to these going forward. Thanks in advance!

They are the same grip in my opinion minus the red line

And the size difference. Players cord comes up noticeably thicker, partly down to moving from 0.58 to 0.60 but they still seem thick for a 0.60

MUCH thicker than the equivalent Tour Velvet cord too.

I’ve only ever used 58 tour blacks . Now on the players cord 58

Identical to me

That's interesting as I've only ever seen a 60 in the players cord and the lamkin website only mentions the 60. I lost interest in them when I tried a 60 and found the same as in this post below. If there is a 58 out there and it is the same as the 58 tour black then I'm interested, but in theory that should be even thicker than the 60??

All measured 2" from the end of the grip and 2" from the bottom

All shafts where .610 round

(Note the zcord Ribbed measured from the widest point of the grip with the grip )

Zcord .580 Ribbed - Bottom .75" Top .92

Lamkin Full Cord - Bottom - .72 Top .91

Lamkin Tour Cord - Bottom .82 Top .89

I’ve always used 58 blacks myself with 3 wraps. I’m trying to wrap my head around what that would translate to on a 60 players. Less wraps I presume because they are so thick?

Tried one and loved it, so re-gripping my whole set. This grip with just one strip of tape is a hair thicker than the Tour Velvet Cord with 3 wraps (.600) and much more comfortable. The weight came out the same, so no change in SW. Totally sold on them, perfect timing for the new season.

You’re referring to the standard model correct?

The reduced taper model must be pretty close to a mc+4?

No, I went with the Plus. Probably is close to the MCC+4 - kind of a combo of it and the Tour Velvet Full Cord. Didn't like the MCC grip since the bottom section would still get slick. These Lamkin grips are the best of both worlds.

Has anyone tried the version with a reminder? Is the reminder in the same spot as the red line or the other side?

The rib is on the opposite side of the red line - have that one just on my driver. It is nice and subtle, but you can tell it's there and it's not as overly pronounced as the GP Align. With the round version, you can turn the grip around so the red stripe is on the bottom for a real clean look like the Tour Velvet Cord. This grip really is the best of all those (along with the MCC+4) combined, and it's priced a few dollars lower which is nice.
