Just got my hands on an Epic Flash (not Sub Zero) 3, bonded. Has a bunch of difference than the standard version, so trying to see what "Version 2" is all about on the USGA list. This one looks like a Epic Flash on the sole, has the SZ face grooves, and NO carbon on the crown... Frankenstein... anyone know anything???

Save some cash and just buy the Epic or Epic SZ Tour Issue Fairway Woods from Callaway Preowned (they are the bonded head variety). They were on sale a while back so I would imagine there are a few WRX'ers who picked one up.

True. Guess I hit my fairway far enough so I have not hit the Flash, just looking for consistent distance and direction more than a bomber.

I much prefer glued / bonded heads. Heck, this is my first year with an adjustable Driver! I stocked up on Rogue Fairways! Got 4 of them. Also have an Epic Forged Driver as a backup.

 

The Japan Epic Flash Star Fairways look pretty dang good in pictures! Would love to hit to see if Flash Face performs the same as US Driver!

As mentioned earlier......it is bonded on an angle, but in this case (pictured above) to be less lofted and open at address.

What would be the advantage to the bonded version? I would think adjustability and ability to swap shafts makes the retail version more desirable?

.....more solid feeling, less weight in the hosel/adapter and aesthetics
