250 at 10. I would get him tested. holy hell.

5 time US Kids World Champ and 2018 IMG World Champ. He's not the normal 11 year old. Hasn't been winning as much in the recent 10-12 events in FL

5'6 and 150 sound right?

Not sure what your question is.

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.

He’s an anomaly. He’s 5’6” and weighs 150.

(this is how he is listed on the Florida tour). A big ten year old is like 5’1” and 100 pounds. And that would be 90th+ percentile. For people that don’t know him at all you can’t just say a 10-year old hits it 250. 270 measured would be truly impressive and newsworthy. That’s why I said it’s like saying Chris Webber was dunking in 6/7th grade but he was like 6’4”.

Dunham was hitting 250 last year.

Dunham was hitting it closer to 270. That’s why I said 240-250 for the longer ones.

My kid is much smaller than average but hit it about average length. Around 200–which was plenty long to score (but not to win).

No - I think there’s a huge drop off between Dunham and number 2. Not just 10 yards. More like 20+ yards. And 270 at sea level would be out of control, even at his size at that age.

My son is in an age group below, but I know one of the kids (well) that’s been competing with him for years and always finished in the top 3-5 at worlds with Dunham. He is and always considered one of the longest in his age group - but like 220-230 long at age 10. And he was like 5’ tall and 95-100 pounds.

Maybe a question that could be its own topic but are boys that hit puberty early at an advantage in the long term?

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.

All,

Let’s not forget we are still talking about 10-11 yr. old and is talented.

If possible, please remove references to last name.

It's not just that he's talented, he works hard at golf and is a multi sport athlete. Lots of talented kids out there but not many that have the resources and put in the time he does.

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.

Pretty sure I said he’s 20-30 longer than the long ones. And I’m pretty sure I know the other kid you’re referencing and we’ve played with him too. He’s 40ish yards longer than my son who is “average” for his age

Dunham is also home schooled. He practices during the morning and early afternoon and does his school work in the evenings.

I'll never understand homeschooling kids over sports. I would hope it's not just about golf.

In 90% of cases, it IS about the sports. And it’s really to the detriment of a person’s well being overall. But, to each their own.

Agree...but I don't agree on the 10yr old hitting it 270. I think 290 is more accurate. Just like the golfers in the adult forums...everyone's hitting it over 320 =)
