Anyone want to help me choose between my 2 sets? Wisdom Needed

So I have burned through about a lot of iron sets in 18 (and 19), and playing my on again off again p790s. Got some deals here and there and built 2 full sets. I can mix and match but don't feel like it. So which would you choose, and why? I know everyone is different, just looking for thoughts - thanks gwrx (and bst)!

 

Set 1

M6 Driver

M3 HL Fairway

M6 Hybrid

P790 4-AW

TM MG 54,58

 

Set 2

G400 LST Driver

G400 Fairway

G30 Hybrid

i500 4 iron

i210 5-PW power spec

Glide 2.0 52, 58

 

Thoughts? Distances are very similar for me with woods. i210 feels a bit better, perhaps 790 a tad longer but barely with power spec. Nothing really in it, score the same... just cannot decide :-)

I've been fitted for clubs before, and this always happens. Trackman data profiles on the two finalists are pretty much the same.

 

The solution: go with one that gives you the most confidence.

 

One note - the i210 PowerSL PW comes at 44.5*, while the Glide 2.0 starts at 52*. Is 7.5* loft gap still give you an OK wedge matrix?

I'd go Ping in set 2, but as always you need to decide? I know that's not much help. Golf's a funny game like that.

yep good catch. And it’s not perfect but if I choke down on the pw I can vary the tweeners.

Ping for the whole bag if you need forgiveness and length.

 

P790 has too much offset that you will end up pulling and hooking all day long.

I got fitted for 790’s and am leaning toward going Ping myself. Ping as a company seems like they only bring out clubs if they are better than the previous generation and also seems like they are built to spec. I haven’t read much good on here about TM as a company.

I'd go with the Ping build, as personally, I'm building a Ping bag myself, and it's pretty close to yours...sans hybrid and power spec irons. AND im getting 'old', so therefore...wisdom?

My choice for Ping was because I had every intention of going all TM and now have every intention of going all Ping. That’s what many many hours on here in the last 2 months has done to me. And I’ve went back and forth many times.

Another vote for Ping. i210s are the softest cast clubs I have ever hit. Going in my bag! ;)

Do the logical thing and dont build your bag based on name alone. 90% of the time i see a bag of all the same clubs it screams "hack" or theyre a staffer.

 

Play whats best. Compare the drivers take which is better. Same for woods and irons. Mix the bag up that gives you best results. Dont compare overall bag to overall bag and say you score the same.

 

Do a direct comparison of each component and play that.

I think the only reasonable thing to do is to decide which one you will play and keep the other one in case you made the wrong choice.

i did this. literally made zero difference. same shafts with the exception of the woods, very similar lofts even, but it didn't matter. i can hit garbage shots with each. if i was scratch maybe i could tell, and quite frankly i have shot better with rental sets at courses i have traveled to. just seeking some thoughts to spark conversation. thanks for making me feel worse though :swoon:
