New HZRDUS Smoke.. T1100?

Recommended Posts

I just saw in the Genesis Monday photos that Bryson was testing a HZRDUS Smoke with neon green writing?! It says Smoke and Small Batch (as the new ones all do vs the old handcrafted). But, this color is awfully similar to the green used with the T1100.... and, Bryson used the T1100 last year...he won several times with it before switching to the TPT.

One could think its a simply custom paint job but I don't know that Bryson has a thing for neon green.....

Anyone know anything?

I'd post photos but I'm an idiot and can never seem to do that properly....

I guess “SMOKE” will be the new shaft line name and there will be new Yellow, Red and T1100 shafts.

Very interested in what this is, he's usually the king of mega low spin low launch driver shafts.

I think i also see "6.5 TX" in the stiffness quadrant there.

Also curious to know if its in play or being tested.

If this shaft follows what the Smoke is to Hzrdus Black it will e a kinder gentler shaft but keep the character of the original.

Good call there....one thing that is clear is that the base color of all the new HZRDUS smoke will be black. I know the yellow turned off a lot of tour guys (and amateurs) and there were versions of the yellow made for the tour that were black with yellow writing.

My guess is this time around, only the writing will be colored; not the body of the shaft.

I’d bet a dime or two that this is the new HZRDUS Smoke T1100. It just makes too much sense... BD used the original, loves ultra low/low shafts and you gotta think PX would love to have it in his bag (hence letting him test it).

We shall see!

That would be awesome. The original T1100 was a monster for sure!

Agree...this shaft has quietly stocked up a TON of wins, also. Phil (longest I;ve ever seen him stay in a driver shaft), BD (for a good while before the TPT), Ted Potter won with it (pretty sure) and I believe there's more yet.

I've been in the T1100 going on 2+ years. It's not the longest but boy is dispersion tight.

This is a very early prototype that we rushed out because the player was looking for something. Only 4 in existence. This is a very stout part so we gave it some green coloring because you won't like it when it's angry.

The original T1100 was so good. It stayed in the bag longer than anything else has in the last 5+ years. Let's hope this is the next gen.

Could not agree with you more. I really "shouldn't" fit that shaft as I top out at around 109 swing speed. But, with a short and quick transition the thing is phenomenal. It usually wins in shootouts on distance and ALWAYS wins in dispersion. So, makes me that much more interested in this proto......

Can’t we have that color scheme in a nice regular flex, for those of us that old and wimpy but like the color!?

HZRDUS T800 or EvenFlow Green. You can probably find one of those for a song on an auction site.

So if in keeping with the current Smoke lineup, it should be a more refined version of the original T1100? Still same ultra low concept, but material placement optimized to make it a little less harsh/more traditional feeling? If so, sounds like a winner!

I don't see T1100 on the shaft anywhere. That green is really not the same as what was on the original T1100. I don't think this is the Smoke version of that.

According to what I’m hearing it absolutely is the Smoke rendition of the T1100. The OG T1100 was the last of the HZRDUS to drop....so far they started Smoke black, now yellow.... I’d be shocked if it’s doesn’t follow suit

Moreover, it was an incredible successful line for Project X and the T1100 was non exception. They’d be wise to build on that

I’m 100 percent not arguing but I’d bet on this being the Smoke T1100

True temper, I hope this is essentially like the original t1100 but if it played just a tad softer in 6.5, like if it was a 6.25 flex.... For me the T1100 in 6.0 was too soft, and too stiff in 6.5 I think for most. There were some respectable wrxers that I think gave the t1100 a bad wrap for being too stiff, but I think that's because they did not sell project x shafts....but most people dont know that, they just promote shafts they did sell...

Wouldn't tipping a 6.0 be the easy solution for your situation? I tipped a 5.5 because 6.0 felt a bit too stiff even though 6.0 is my usual flex.

I don't recall people were giving T1100 bad rep for being too stiff, only that people were confirming that it was a very stout shaft but not as rebar like as the Black.
