How your lawn can be a training aid :)

Over the winter I've been practising my swing using a(*) wiffle ball on a string. I went out in daylight a few days ago and was surprised to see that my swings have bruised the grass and left an interesting trace:

The marks aren't quite so clear in the photo so I've put two sticks down. The bottom stick is across my toe line, the upper stick shows the bruising from the swing. So that tells me two things:

1. I have an in to out swing path.

2. It's time I got the lawn mower out :)

(*)Several actually since they don't last long :)

Solved the lawn problem. Laid in one piece of turf that is pretty much like real deal. Very labor intensive however removing Bermuda and St Augstne, leveling, over and over.

That is great but waaaaay more effort than I would be willing to put in.

Grass does grow from seed! There is a guy on YouTube called the lawn care nut

His channel is awesome!

If I had a yard not maintained by our community then I would totally plant a whole lawn. It just looks really fun . And at the end you get to practice golf on it.

I never had much luck with seed planting, not to mention I would not want a lawn full of divots. I can actually hit off my turf, no divots, but nearly like tight lie. Not ideal, but it can be done. FWIW, I use a mat most of the time to at least give the "feel" of a divot. OTOH, other artificial turfs I have seen, you really cannot hit off them. This stuff is more like real grass. I got it from Home Depot and it comes in 15ft wide rolls and price now I believe is about $43 linear foot.

The OP shows his "lawn tracings". I get something akin to that if there is morning dew. (trying to stay on topic).

Here is a closer up of artificial turf with actual golf ball...

Artificial? No thanks. Stuff will give you the cancer!

Kidding of course. But real grass is the best.
