New PXG prototype driver

It's supposed to be slightly draw, but you have some play with the weight settings and if you open the face and go lower loft, and flatter lie to make it straight bias.

Also just a note as far as looks the XF was slightly larger footprint than X, but the ping g max looks huge, and the XF did not look as huge as the ping to me. (I know they are all 460cc)

Can anyone give some early comparisons between the XF and G400 Max? I am gaming and happy with a 10.5 G400 Max with AD TP 6x and will be replacing it with a Gen2. I am leaning towards the XF because of the forgiveness. I don’t need the low spin. Any input would be appreciated because I will be buying without hitting.

I just returned from my Gen2 fitting at PXG in Phoenix; 10.5 XF Driver, 3 metal and 17 degree hybrid. For those who have not hit the 3 metal or hybrid, you should do so- fantastic clubs.

I hit both the X and XF extensively, with many different shafts. The XF should have a more similar profile to the Ping. With the right shaft, I was able to get my spin to 2400 range with the XF. The shafts do make a remarkable difference, so it you can get fit, I would encourage you to do so. If you are buying without hitting, the XF is closer to the Ping than the X, in my opinion.

Fairway and hybrid were incredible on trackman today. The fairway was carrying at least 10-15 yards farther than my current gamer and the shaft isn’t even dialed in yet.

What was your set up? Weights and shaft and loft?

3 wood ended up lofting up to 16.5 to get more carry. 2XKV 70 stiff blue for now , soon to be replaced by the 2019 ATX tour blue 70TX. 42.5”, all heavy weights besides 2 which were in the front middle and soon to be replaced by the heavier weights as well. D5.5 currently. This will be insane with a real shaft in it.

3 hybrid. 19 degrees. AD DI 85 stiff. 40”. Same weight situation as above. D4.5 currently. This is dialed in.

My ss is about yours. Did you try the X and if so in what loft? Too low spin?

I hit both (in a 10.5) extensively. I was actually a little longer (5 yds) with the X, but more more accurate with the XF. I have a Gen1 XF and I like the head profile. Gen2 XF is 15 yards longer than Gen1.

I was able to dial in spin at 2410. We were using Pro V1s. Carry was at 243, rolling out to 267

When you say Gen 2 is 15y longer, did you get a chance to hit them side by side?

Reason I ask is because you claim 95mph speed and 243y carry. Since you are in Louisiana closer to sea level than mountains, the launch monitor was probably jacked up a little.

I don't think you can get 243y carry with 95mph swing speed. At least not as an average. When I was swinging 100mph last year, my best shots would barely carry 240 on trackman in fitting (similar on course in real life).

It was indoors at PXG’s headquarters in Phoenix. I can only give you the numbers they presented me. I optimized the attack angle (5 for me) and loft at impact (15 for me).

I was answering questions on the fitting; I am not interested in debating what the numbers showed. And yes, I am in a current Gen1 XF that was originally fitted at my PXG Xperience and hit them side by side.

At my fitting on Friday, I was told that if I am to order anything, the 10.5* 0811X is currently in very low supply, the 9* is sold out completely. I did not ask about the current time to order but it seems that no one expected them to be this good - on this basis, whilst I am prevaricating as to whether to buy just the driver or a whole top end driver/3 wood/19* hybrid ensemble, if people could just stop demoing them for a while it would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

Well. Even though I'm more than pleased with my F9, I gave in and ordered the PXG.

0811XF 9* with Pro Orange 60TX

Let me know your thoughts - F9 has been great so far for me but also curious about the PXG.

I'll report back on here. Unfortunately I won't be able to give an apples to apples comparison with the same shaft, but I can provide some feedback for sure. The F9 is a speed monster, but the XF was idiot proof for me the day I tried it on the range. It just went straight and retained good ball speed no matter where I hit it on the face.

Nothing is safe in my bag!

Spoke to PXG. As reported 9 degree X backordered. Heads not expected until Mid March.

Not good.

I'd just buy a 10.5 degree and open it up to 9 degrees... Not too many people need to hit a 9 degree driver, especially this driver...

This is golfwrx. People need 9* cracked open to 7,5 and the weights to fade to avoid going left.

Not good.

How do heads not come in until Mid March? Don't they continually produce them daily?

Or are you saying that if you ordered today, you won't get it till mid march?

I ordered 2 weeks ago. Does that mean I have to wait till mid March as well?
