He’s brilliant actually. The shape doesn’t bother me as much as the yellow for alignment aids. Custom shop will be packed with these getting a new paint job

There is pretty much no modern mallet which could be described as good looking but the colour scheme on these bad boys is just horrendous! The only thing I can think of is that Scotty wants the custom shop to become busier and a good way of doing it was making these things look as ugly as possible when it comes to the colour scheme.

Despite what some may say, I can’t say they’re the ugliest putters out there. The sight lines and the neon I think are what really turn people off. If he put just a singular sight line like that first T12 Prototype (which I actually think is a good look) and colored it white on all the models, I think they’d get a better reception.

I wouldn't spend the money but I think they look nice. The traditionalists will scoff at them, but the guy isn't sticking with "the classics" every year, he's thinking outside the box and putting his own flair on popular shapes. There's only so much you can do with an Anser style putter. Lighten up, live a little. Ya never know what design might catch on. The OG Futura looked like my mothers hand held potato masher and everyone had a similar reaction, it turned out to be wildly popular.

These look like complete junk, it's starting to look like Scotty has run dry of ideas after getting inspiration from everyone else for the last 20 years. As a big fan of the classic newports and AOP range I think he needs to look back, not forward. High MOI putters are a real draw for some players but not all. There are volume sales in well crafted classic putter designs. If you pull out the neon paint pot you've lost you mind on day 1.

Bettinardi has their BBSeries in bright volt/neon paint scheme and looks pretty cool.

 

I think there has been a huge switch to mallet putters over the last few years with player like Rose, DJ, JT, Tiger(tinkering) Rahm, JDay, and many others all using Spiders and High MOI putters. I dont' think these putters are a big whiff, as they definitely will fill a void for for his mallets, and they will probably sell really well.

I’m ordering the X6 as my 50th bday present. I see nothing about these putters that saids “junk”. Quite the opposite, they are high quality milled versions of popular higher MOI designs. I’m intrigued with the low profile. For a large mallet they are very sleek. I will however agree something about the yellow he choose is off. I reserve my decision to change the paintfill until it’s on the course and I see the optics. Who knows, maybe it really pops and comes to life outside on the greens. Either way I get it the traditionalists are never going to approve. For my game high MOI has literally transformed my putting. BB
