Is golf your most expensive hobby?

My other hobby/sport. Definitely more expensive than golf. It doesn't have to be, but with travel to races and being just as big an equipment junky with this as I am in golf, it gets a bit ridiculous. There's a bit more carbon fiber in that canoe than an M5 driver.

My other hobbies are 2 girls in soccer and 1 girl that golfs and plays softball. The one that golfs costs more then 2 combined in soccer.

Yes and it's not even close. My only other hobby is hockey. If I did play all year round - which I don't... I Take summer off - It would probably cost me around $600 in team fees, plus another....$400 for misc ice team that I buy to practice. I don't buy new gear really because I'm not growing... and playing 2x a week means gear generally can last a decade or more if you take care of it. I did buy a new stick this year for $150. Prior stick was about $90 and I got it 4 years ago. The only gear I've replaced in the past 5 years is my helmet and gloves. Probably about $200 for that.

I've been easily spending $4k a year on golf for the past few years. Between buying new clubs, lessons, fittings and actual play. I am doing my best this year to solidify my bag right now and then not change again. I'm actually very confident in my bag other than maaaaybe the hybrid/DI slot, and possibly driver. Only reason to switch irons is if I find something like P760's or Apex Pro's are miles more forgiving and much longer. The Miura's have about a 75% chance of staying.

So I'm hoping this year to cut my costs down to just playing golf, which I spend about $250-300 a month on playing/practicing between 2 and 3 times a week. Golf season for me is about 7 months so, so looking to keep my costs around $2k, so it may mean more twilight golf and less prime time.

It’s my most expensive hobby, yes. But I have cut back tremendously as my kids, 2 girls/15 and 12 are knee deep in their passion/hobbies.

15 yr old plays select soccer as well as for the high school varsity as a keeper. $$

12 year old has 20-25 hours of intensive ballet per week, competitions, private lessons, costumes, tutus, point shoes $$$$$

My ho’ing days as well as playing tournaments on weekends is over. Most of my golf is Monday mornings and one other weekday morning most weeks

Oh God, dance costumes. When I packed up to move my daughter had three big bins of costumes. I figure roughly $10,000 worth!

She’s way better as a ballet dancer than we ever imagined. And it’s stupid how much $$ goes to that. My 15 year old soccer $$$ for a year is not even 6 weeks for ballet.

I hear you. We actually got off cheap (relatively). She only did one major competition a year whenshe was younger, now they’re doing several. We had to travel a minimum of 200 miles to get to one, and they didn’t hold them in Motel 6’s!. Once she got to high school there were several dance line trips, but we used the Orlando ones as vacations for us, so it helped ease that pain a little bit.

It is. I tried to make tennis as expensive by buying the latest clothes and trying new rackets and buying more than one " cause I need" the extra rackets. But I found a racket that is perfect for me and haven't switched in 4-5 years.

Meanwhile, I just bought a Rogue SZ cause "I need" a lower spin driver. Even on this forum, I'm ashamed to admit how many full bags I have..... Ugh!!!

I definitely spend more on music stuff (guitar and bass) than on golf. However I go for budget golf gear and deals. If I was a name brand guy I could easily spend more on golf.
