Who goes to Golf schools????

I was just wondering if anyone on here goes to Golf Academy's or Schools such as Leadbetter and International Junior Golf Academy and how long have you gone and how do u rate your progression of your swing

I went to Leadbetter at the IMG Academies in the summer for two months in the summer of 2004 and a month last summer. The instruction was excellent but not anything I can't get at home. It was more the atmosphere, surrounded by the best players in junior golf for 8 hours of practice on every aspect of the game every day that really improved my game. Some of their swing techniques I had trouble with, but overall it really improved my game a lot. A lot of you club hoes would drool over the facilities they have there too, a full service shop on the driving range that can do really anything.

I am a full time junior student at the Leadbetter academey in Bradenton at the IMG academies people call them. I was accepted when i was 15 due to my coaches recomendation. It isnt an all money get in cause i had to send my scores, achievements and goals and references and its actually quite a big process trying to get there but once your there your just stuck to the routine. The place is really commited as practise usually starts at 6 30 but most of us turn up 20 - 30 minutes early before our coach comes and there are already people on the range. Its a real thrill to be there but if you have to move somewhere else than it seems like your on your own. Its a great place but you must be commited to giving up your life to golf.

i go to the butch harmon school in las vegas 1 time a mounth. i started a year ago and my index (i only post tourny scores) was 28 a year ago now im a 3.8. if you want a coach go to tbhsog in las vegas w/ greg labelle he is amazing

Sounds like an awesome place to go I wish there was something like that here.

 

A lot of the kids that go to Ledbetter or the IJGA come from out of state, and they live on 'campus'. I know a lot of guys that have gone to Ledbetter, and the IJGA (Hilton Head Campus). It sure is a lot of money, but the guys that come out of the schools the changes are amazing.

LOL...i feel sorry for you guys, this one competitive golfer from my school just went to the leadbetter in FL. All I can say is everyone throughtout the greater chicagoland area is in festive celebration as this was perhaps the biggest sack weve ever seen... btw am i allowed to say that :D ???

I had spent the summer 2 yrs ago at IJGT.... i really am looking at leadbetter right now tho.

When I went to the US a couple years ago I went to IMG in bradenton for a couple of weeks, and I actually didn't find the coaching any good, it was good to spend so much time on your golf at great facilities, but the coaches messed me up, I had never hit the ball so badly in my life the first week that I was there. I hit it a little better then next week, but when I got back to Australia I had all the new moves that I spent ages trying to get rid of afterwards.

The site is pretty basic right now.... 2 weeks there will be full swings of all the juniors and it is going to be an AWSOME site.....

I went to Leadbetter in Bradenton over the summer last year. The fundementals helped sooo much but the "Leadbetter swing" didn't work that well for me. The IPI fitness was great. Also the mental fitness helped a lot.

I'm Going to the Leadbetter Academy in Orlando right now and I like it a lot. The only problem is that it isn't like a life full of golf like the Bradenton Academy offers. I might consider going there next year.
