PHOTOS: Accra TZ5 & TZ6 Shafts

I have gamed mid 70g shafts in my driver for a long time. I went with the TZ6 65 which is 72g uncut. The weighting of the shaft feels great. Not light feeling at all.

Did you tip it at all? Why did you go with the 65 over the 75?

The 72g weight works better for me than the TZ6 75 which is 80gram uncut. I tipped mine 1/2” as a starting point.

So here’s a quick update to my previous post with some Trackman numbers from today. I will say that both shafts are solid. I did find the TZ6 to be a bit more consistent and playable. I do find the PO at times to take a little extra work on my part. That being said I could play either easily. Again, both in an M2 2016 10.5 head std setting. Both playing at 44.5”. The PO is the 60 TX and the TZ6 is the M5 flex. I’m very interested to get outside on the course with this in a few weeks when I head south for some golf.

Curious if you have any comparison of spin rates between the two? These are two shafts I’m looking at as well as the ventus. I’m worried the TZ6 will be too high spin in the F9. Coming from an Atmos Black TS 7x in an Epic Sub Zero.

Really liked the Accra tour Z ST model from a few years ago, but not making that model again, but this new TPT shaft is unreal

I do actually. I’m not sure why they didn’t populate in the report. They were actually very similar on spin the during last week and this weeks Trackman sessions. The Accra was maybe 2-300 higher. The Accra was pretty consistently around 24-2600. I wouldn’t say that it’s a spinny shaft at all, at least from what I found. I also found it to be straighter than the PO for me.

Did you tip either the PO or the TZ6?

I play PO 70TX untipped and it was suggested to me that the TZ6 65 M5 would need to be tipped .5” to 1” to match the stiffness of the PO.

Just got this in today. Can't wait to hit it this weekend.

Very interested in the results. One of the exact combos on my test list this year. If you move on from that bad boy let me know.

I wonder how good the tz6 would be in a 3 wood

With the right weight and flex, is going to be perfect. I am going to try it not only in the new Mizuno drivers but also the Mizuno ST190TS 3 metal.

Here's my 2 cents. I had First Proto in a M5 flex,70 gram. I play driver in 60 gram range and fairway in 70 gram. Shaft had great feel but was too heavy for me. Waited for Retail final version of proto TZ6 to come out in 60 gram. The proto was less stout than the final version to me. The final version M5 flex has a CPM of 280 !! That is very stout. The M4 has a CPM of 269 which by some standards,(without getting too technical) is an x flex. I will be switching to the M4. Seems to me like the M5 plays more like a TX than an X flex. I agree with previous poster. Get fit, know your specifications and what works for you. Once you do and get this shaft correct it will be Heaven!!

**My TZ6 M5 flex with Taylormade tip will be going up for sale.**

The CPM of the butt of the shaft tells you nothing about the rest of the shaft. Also, there is no universal chart for cpm vs flex. Every company has their own idea what Stiff is vs regular or X.

So coming from Tensei Pro White the presumed profile that would work is the TZ5? Anyone compare the two?

I like the idea of the TZ6 and really want to give it a go, but my main miss with driver is low on the face and my guess is that the TZ6 would kind of exacerbate that.

Real nerdy over-thinking here but with the more active tip, would it cause more toe-droop at impact thus raising the strike pattern or would it deflect forward more, thus lowering the strike pattern? Haha, no way to know without hitting it, and probably too much paralysis by analysis here, but this would be the place to get an informed answer I suppose.

TRHODE; Like I said, without getting too technical. Thank you for your input. CPM has always been an extremely accurate benchmark for me. also, what I know is the industry standard,(for me) Golf Shaft Reviews. I have an idea for me what works for my load and unload motion. Along with EI profiles,

***Went a little technical with the EI.***

Where does everyone buy their Accra shafts? They seem to be rare.

I'm sure Tollbros and people's clubs sells them. They are both on here and sponsors.

Man I put the TZ5 in my F9 and it’s an insane combo. It’s the first time I have ever had to add loft and move the heavy weight back.
