This is so WRX that its not even funny! This may be tied for best BISC post ever with the guy who lasted exactly 9 holes on Jan 1. a couple years ago before going to the trunk to change out a putter!

A friend of mine works in moving, and always runs into people consolidating before they relocate. One of his customers has a trunkload of golf stuff from her recently passed husband. In it, is a chopped down belly putter. I do what any self respecting person would do and send it off to play it again sports where it can help some yip infested golfer in the future. Enter the struggle.

 

I jinxed myself for on the wedge shelf is an ancient vokey. It is the 8620 56.14 in the raw finish. I have wanted to play rusty wedges just to reduce the glare. I will have to get some data to see if the grooves have any life left in them for I think it is about 16 years old. If it performs, I think I will fall victim with only 5 rounds in to the new season.

One range session was all it took. It's easy to think of yourself playing good shots and not tinkering with your set up when you haven't hit a ball for a few months.

I’m out. Found a 910d3 head on eBay for $30 and a diamana kaili 70x for $45. Put them together and played it today over my razr fit xtreme. The Xtreme has been in the bag for a while so it was a bitter sweet round. Shot a 91 with a 7, 8, and 9 on the card (6 pars and a bird).

Yeah despite loving my 3W I might change it out to match my driver (G410 Plus) and add in a hybrid or driving iron to fill out a gap I have or make my 4i slot more forgiving. This year my bag will be pretty set but tinkering in filling gaps and consistency.

It would be interesting to do a lifespan analysis on this. I feel like it would be similar to a 3rd world country. There's a high rate of infant mortality, then a spike in early adulthood (when the new lines come out in the spring), but if you can survive those you have a very high probability of making it to old age. Sure, cancer is going to pick off a few along the way (new putter, new driver), but I'd say most of the casualties are in a couple of large clusters.
