As much as I love their clubs, no excitement at all for the ball. On a launch monitor, no gains with the RB and was a club shorter with the RBx. Maybe on-course results will be different, but hopefully they don't become a liability for Mizuno, especially if they aren't a hit on the Tour. So many good balls out there for less than $30, seems just silly to be paying over $40 for some.

I was able to hit the Tour yesterday. I'm not a high spinner but with my 9I I was able to stop it on a dime. The feel at contact was or the best way to describe it, like a QSTour. It was high and long with my other clubs. Part of me thinks to just play it and not worry about the X but still need to tickle my fancy by trying it.

Played both versions of the ball today. Just a side note I'm not very sensitive golf ball performance other than feel and spin around the greens. Spin around the greens was great considering conditions were pretty firm and feel with the putter wasn't an issue either. The 10-15 mph wind didn't throw the ball around which is nice. One thing I noticed was I could hear the mizuno's flying through the air more than any other ball I've ever played. Was it the spin or dimples, who knows.

One more thing, these are made in the same factory the nike balls were made in and retail is going to be $45.

Wondering which factory that is? Nike were made by Bridgestone, which uses different factories. Are you talking about the Japanese Factory which makes the Bridgestone Tour XS?

Just curious which country it says on the box.

$55/dz. here in Canada and they are now in stock @ Golf Town.

That's not bad, yet not ideal. Will still probably give them a try at some point.

That line is like a bad penny. Bridgestone stopped making Nike balls when the RZN material came out. Those balls were made in Taiwan.

Definitely not feeling the look of those, has the shiny discount urethane and dimple look of some of the cheaper direct marketed balls. One of the areas where TP5/x, ProVs, and even MTB Black separate themselves. Performance characteristics aside, when you take a new one of those out of the box they just look like they are higher quality.

How did the RB Tour play?

I’m less concerned about what a ball looks like in hand and more interested in performance. The only thing that turns me off about a ball these days is a noticeable seam. In this day and age, there’s no reason for a noticeable seam.

Used to line up the seam on the tee back in the day.

I picked up a sleeve of each and will give them a try on our golf trip to Myrtle. I hope they perform. I'm taking some TP5/X to compare them against.

Just can’t win sometimes; too white, not white enough! I’m sure if you like how they perform the shine will not bother you.

I have to say, at least for me, I'm torn. They perform in the wind, which was welcome this weekend, but for me, they were noticeably shorter off every club for me than the TP5s I was comparing them against. They spun and checked up, but the distance thing I need to look hard at again.

I gamed MTB Black at TPC Harding Park in windy cold condition over the weekend. I grabbed one extra club against head wind. MTB Black performed marvelous especially on par 3s. I made on green 3 out of 4 ranging from 150 to 200 yds. Ball bounced once and sat 3 - 4 feet from the landing zone. I played rental clubs, Titleist 718 AP2.

Am I missing something? What does this have to do with the Mizuno balls?

From the pic, I was hitting into the green, left to right. It was 140 yrds. I happen to have the same swing for both. Crazy how they ended up the same. Had some very good drives and iron shots with the RBT and RBTX. For me it's probably gonna come down to feel. They both fight wind, check really good, and feel good off putter. The X is firmer but no hard. Both feel good.382326fe8f943d33bc906be1ae560be3.jpg

Surprised there isn’t more buzz here on these. I’m really digging the RBT. Took me about 2 seconds to get over the “shine” as results are what I care about and it’s an impressive ball. As stated above it’s wind perfmance is outstanding. I was really also impressed with its driver distance and spin being a softer ball. It’s also just as good as any other tour ball around the greens.

I thought the TP5/X was safe again this year but as of right now it’s a coin flip. RBTX is up next.

Golf balls are in hand that my buddy sent me. They look awesome! People have complained about the sheen off them. I like it! They are a brighter white than the Titleist balls which makes the dimple design look more prominent. Bouncing them off the LW, they compare nicely to the Titleist equivalent feel and sound wise. Chipping on the carpet they feel excellent. Good check. So far so good! I'm hovering around a 10 handicap to start the year so I'm not a great golfer. I do think these balls have every bit as much spin/feel as the Pro V1 balls. The Mizuno X feels a bit softer than the V1x when chipping on carpet. The reg Mizuno ball feels very much like the V1. If there are any real differences they are so subtle I'm not able to detect them so far. I've been leaning to playing the V1x for the little extra spin it offers. The Mizuno X feels a couple compression points softer, almost like the ‘17 TP5x. Loved the TP5x except the lack of spin around the green. I’m told the RB X will spin more than the TP5x. If it flies as far and stops on the greens like the 2019 Pro V1/V1x I’ve been using or the 2017 TP5/TP5x, I could rasily make this my gamer.

Weather is sparkling here so they will get a test tomorrow at the short game area of my local club.
