There is some something to this shaft. I can’t quantify it, I just know that when I make a less than perfect stroke, the ball stays on a line I know it wouldn’t have been on without the shaft. It is not a dramatic difference but it is enough to give a 10-20 foot put at least a chance of going in when before it might have had none.

I got a stability shaft installed in one of my BB0s and like it quite a bit so far. The biggest difference I can tell is that the feel is much different and the stiffness of the shaft is very noticeable compared to a standard TT putter shaft. The stability shaft helps on the long putts by allowing me to take the needed more aggressive stroke and knowing exactly where the head and face angle is at the entire time.

Thank you ALL for the input. I'm going to pull the trigger. One more question. Did you install the shaft yourself or did you send it to BGT to have them install it? Thanks again

Had a shop about 5 minutes from my house that is a Stability vendor install it. Got it back in under a day after dropping it off.

I was thinking of one, it's $250 CAD for me installed which is quite a bit. There are the UST shafts for $40 CAD which is way more appealing. May sacrifice one of my putters for the UST shaft to see how it works.

I have installed this shaft in five putters and two of them are in use and loving the new feel. Two are on their way back to the maker for changes unrelated to the shaft and will go back out, shaft re-installed. The last one has not shipped, just yet but I expect positive feedback.

The UST shaft was designed by one of the designers of the BGT shaft, but its main purpose/benefit was to filter vibrations and give the golfer a better "Feel". The Stability model was designed as a performance improvement and has benefits that were not even considered when the UST was introduced.

Guys will pay $300-500 for a driver shaft that promises less dispersion, longer drives and better feel. On a good day, the driver comes out 14 times, right? Weigh that to the potential benefit of this putter shaft and I think that the $200 becomes less of a deal-breaker. Will everyone like the new shaft? Probably not. But, it is the same with driver shafts, if you ask me. I've never liked the feel of Fujikura products, due to the feel I get from them. I'm a Graphite Designs fan. You'll never hear me knock Fujikura, though. Quality is what it is and to each his own.

If I had spent the money on a $500 putter or more, I'd have to really consider giving the BGT model a fair shake. IMHO, if you do, you'll feel what a lot of guys are feeling, including Justin Rose. Take the leap and let us know what YOU find out.

. Picked mine up tonight still indoor golf season here in Pittsburgh so hard to tell the changes putts feel slightly firmer which I like as the Evnroll can sometimes feel a little soft. Looking forward to giving it a try once the weather turns. Between the Evnroll face grooves the shaft and the flat cat grip I should never miss anything under 10 feet again!

I used the Stroke Lab putter for two rounds and it didn't feel any different for me. I assume this is the same technology

Stroke Lab is nothing like the Stability. Stroke Lab is made to be lighter to change the balance feel of the head; Stability is made to be super stiff to reduce the deflection of the head during the swing and is the same weight as a standard steel putter shaft.

i had it installed on my futura 6m putter couple weeks ago. i work with continental golf in raleigh. great custom shop. Been working with them for years. i'm a self-admitted/addicted golf tech junkie so i figured it couldn't be WORSE performance than a standard stock shaft. the folks at continental said the feedback from their plus/scratch customers are that this shaft helps with lag putting the most. that is where they noticed the biggest difference. Who knows why that is. This shaft is different than the UST model which is basically just a vibration damper. This stability shaft is extremely stiff longitudinally and has extremely high resistance to torque. It does not feel heavy, nor light. it feels as one would expect a STIFF STIFF STIFF putter shaft to feel.

technically the composite element of the shaft doesn't deform on offcenter hits (this is 80% of the length of the putter now). that is in a nutshell the technology advantage. on short putts you aren't creating enough force to cause face angle deflection due to shaft torquing a bit after offcenter strike. on a 40 foot putt a 1/2 deg of face angle change due to shaft deflection / torque equates to the putt being offline by 4 inches just from NOT hitting in the center of the face. This technology advantage is measurable on a fixed swing of the putter where the hand pressure / grip etc don't contribute to the deflection or the reaction to the feel of an offcenter strike... ie a mechanical putting robot. W a real person because our hands/wrists/arms all adapt to the FEEL of an offcenter strike in some way...who knows what actually happens.

in my hands, this is my sense for the putter:

- short putts: not that different. takeaway feels a little different but so far my practice putting (4-6 footers) indoors is about the same.

- long putts: improved lines. I don't even think about line once i pick it. I just focus on speed. so i guess my exp is consistent w continentals other plus/scratch customers that have tried it: improved long putt performance.

- what does this mean per round? maybe 1-3 putts per round difference...

I am a 1 handicap at this time.

Hope that helps folks.

I was given one and installed it in my redwood anser. Let it dry and gripped it. Walked over to the putting green and hit about 10 putts. Walked right back to the shop and put my steel shaft back in and gave the shaft to one of my club builders to try.

The theory is fine but lots of assumptions in terms of the actual significance of the shaft torque as it relates to the resulting face rotation (while the ball is still in contact with the face). Do you have a link to actual data that supports any of that? I've never run across any.
