Puma Golf Shoes?

Recommended Posts

I'm an Ecco wearer, but they can get pretty pricey. Does anyone have experience with their spiked and spikeless Ignite Pwradapt and or NXT Shoes? How they fit, their comfort, and especially the grip of the spikeless versions? Thanks!

Hi!

I've got a couple pair of the pwradapt sports...love them, very comfortable and light and look great...always get a lot compliments.

I'd say their grip is in line with other spineless shoes...great in dry conditions and a little tentative in wet slick grass.

Sizing...IMO...they definitely run a half size large. Meaning...I normally wear 9.5 but 9's in the pwradapts fit perfectly.

I have two pair of the Ignite PowerAdapts. Typically a FJ Icon wearer with occasional NB or Nike. The Pumas have become my favorite shoes.

Light. Grip like suction cups. Feel like slippers. Look awesome.

And agree with above--I actually get compliments on the blue ones. I'll say what I say to all my playing partners--they are awesome shoes!

Nice! I appreciate the input. I love Ecco, but at $200 for spikeless and near $300 for spikes, I have to choose a cheaper but still comfortable option.

I have the Grip Fusion Sport and just ordered the Ignite NXT PWRADAT in the spikeless and leather version. Tried a lot of shoes on and these fit the best. TGW had 25% off recently so I picked them up there. The spikelesss Fusion and NXT are super light. They are supposed to be waterproof too but I want test that out given the lightweight fabric. Average cost of the three was just under $90 with the discounts.

I just recently purchased a pair of the Nike Pwradapt Ignite that Gary Woodland was sporting in Hawaii.

Awesome, comfortable and plenty of bite.

Now to test there waterprooficity.

I bought a pair of the NXT Solelace ones and love them. Very comfy and the solelace really feels like the shoe is part of your foot. I'm in LA so we generally don't have to play in wet conditions much but I did play twice after some rain lately and had no issues with slippage at all. Feel like they're as good or better traction than my previous FJ Pro S/L shoes I had. These also seem to be better quality as I had issues with the sole of those peeling apart and the toe wasn't very reinforced and really started to wear down after moderate use. Time will tell how well these hold up but after 6 or so rounds they're awesome and still looking brand new.

I have a pair of IGNITE PWRSPORT and I would suggest avoiding them in favor of a style that does not have the rubber/plastic PWRCAGE. I wore mine for one summer and the laces cut through the PWRCAGE, and I don't wear them particularly tight.

In terms of comfort and traction they are top notch.

I finally bit the bullet. I had to go down to a 10.5, but easily the most comfortable shoes I've worn in a long time. I wore the spikeless and they were like being barefoot. I got some spiked and we'll see how they go, but I am very impressed. I have to thin the herd now. I pulled out 7 pair of golf shoes in the garage, many unworn. Time for BST!

Has anyone heard any rumors about the 2020 offerings? If they're somehow going to be updated? We have a customer asking and Puma is tight lipped.

I walk nearly every round I play and I've worn Ecco (Bioms and GTX) for the past 6+ years. I decided I needed a change and started looking for a sportier shoe. After reading reviews and researching I settled on the Puma Ignite ProAdapt. After playing a round in them before the weather turned I ordered a second pair. They felt as comfortable as the Eccos but more stable. I'm looking forward to seeing how they hold up next year, especially with the 1 year waterproof guarantee.

I have three pairs of Ecco bioms, but bought a pair of Puma Ignites spineless this year. I find them as comfortable and a bit more supportive than the Eccos. Better traction too. And with the price difference, I’d definitely by the Pumas again in the future.

I finally got a little info from Puma. There will be "some" changes with the line this spring. I'll see if they'll have anything on display at the Show.

I have a pair of the Ignite Proadapt shoes. They are very comfortable. I will probably upgrade to a more aggressive spike once the current ones wear down to boost the gription. Downside is only 1 year of waterproof, but no issues there yet. Can't help you with spikeless.
