Out for delivery, let’s go fedex.

Have only rolled a few indoors on my putting mats, but I am impressed with how stable the head is. It flows very nicely when you swing it. Have been using a Toulon Atlanta with the H4 neck and the X is definetly the more stable of the two heads (as I would expect/it should be when comparing the sizes of the two). I’m curious to see how it rolls on the course this weekend, but so far so good. I did get mine with the TM Lamkin grip instead of the SS (the axe handle Lamkin variety).

I've been goofing around with mine for a little over a week now and it's been good, however, I never seem to get along with the SS GTR Pistol. Have an Iomic on the way and will make my decision on whether or not will be keeping after that.

I can say a few things though as I have used mine a few times now.

Look: Blue and white is awesome, however, wish there was no sightline down the middle. I think it would look better with the thick white line alone.

Feel: I gamed the black previously, the feel is similar, definitely not as soft as the red.

Grip: If you like the GTR, these have the new one and the materials are different, feels higher quality.

I think it feels better than the old black tour spider.

Also, the blue looks badass but when I was testing both outdoors on the green, I liked looking down at the copper more. With the navy the white really pops and was almost distracting. It’s a more subtle with the copper which I liked. After 5 days of debating I finally picked one up. Good thing I waited because I was so certain I wanted the blue at first and glad I had a chance to roll both outdoors and test them out.

Anyone using this that's gone from the tour red? Any differences feel wise?

I have had a blue X with wide white line for right at 2 weeks in play and practice everyday , coming from a red.

The X has some click to it at impact. Which I like. And the new shaft has a heavier feel to me wish I think balances it overall compared to the red or black which depending on grip could feel head heavy.

But the best part for me is the wide alignment aide. It lines itself up which is my main fault with putter. Never off far. But with an anser head I just miss a little often. I don’t miss with this one.

I love my Spider X, have the copper with white and the black alignment line. I've never been off line with it yet, I just need to read my putts better and adjust to controlling the speed.

Got mine in navy with single white one but am thinking I should have gotten the full alignment top.

May list mine to purchase the full alignment slant neck.

I agree and came to the same conclusion.

For those coming off a tour red, is the x softer or clickier? My son currently plays the tour red and has really struggled lately in terms of distance control. if the spider x is a bit softer, I'm hoping that will help him a bit.

Spider Tour Red is definitely softer than the Spider X. The Spider X to me firmness wise sits between the Spider Tour Red and the Spider Tour Black (DJ Model) and does have a slight click and definitely not off putting

My thoughts exactly, I think TM nailed it with this insert. The weighting of the head feels great and the new SS GTR feels much better and more premium as well. All around great job by TM.

Sounds like my Tour Red is definitely safe for now. For me, the Tour Red insert is just about perfect. I really wish TM would let you do custom orders where you could specify the insert on your putters. The one insert fits all for a particular color scheme or style seems to be missing an opportunity.

I went in expecting to love the navy and also found that I was drawn to the copper. Was just about sold until I threw my yellow/black Chrome Soft truvis down and the color combination just did not work. The sales guy took a look and said it looked a little like puke and he wasn’t wrong.

Haven’t bought the navy yet but it seems inevitable at this point. I’ve been nervous about the paint issues but it felt so great that I’m probably going to take the leap anyway.

Edit: Just drove to Golf Galaxy and bought it. Bought the copper; I think I’d rather use a different truvis and have the color I preferred. I might actually need some sort of intervention; the idea of waiting until tomorrow seemed ridiculous.

I’m loving everything about this putter with the exception of one caveat. The white face is picking up sharpie marks left and right. I use a full line around my ball and the white is getting decently stained.

Doesn’t bother me much at all but some people may be turned off. It’s a damn fine putter though.

Idk how people had paint chipping on the spiders. I used one for a year and simply put a headcover on it and didn’t bang it around and I had not issues

Then you were lucky. I had a spider red, always kept the headcover on, treated it like a baby and was super careful with it. Paint still chipped round the insert and left white. Same issue with the spider blade I had many years previous. Taylormade just have inconsistent paint quality on their putters.

I recently played with a guy who had a tour red and just shoved it in the bag, didn’t even use a cover. It looked just fine. The one I had lived in a cover and the paint just fell off. I think it’s just whether you got lucky or not.

The insert. The insert in the spider is firmer and I preferred that over the softer feel of the odyssey. I also prefer the overall feel of the spider. I think Odyssey did a great job with the stroke lab but I just liked the feel of the spider more.
