Maxfli Tour and Tour X ball any good?

The UFli's are both pretty good. I prefer the Speed to the Soft overall personally but will be interested to try these out. No need to pay $34.99/dz as they will run specials and BOGO deals.

Hmm. Loved the U6. Loved the Tour soft. Loved the Ufli soft. They have been my favorite white golf ball for several years, besides Pro V.

Interesting the new Tours come in a gloss, matte and matte green. I love matte golf balls. Can’t wait to see the white matte and the green matte

Just checked my local Dick's sporting goods and the new balls were there. Still priced a little high for my blood, but I'll try them if they get a discount or I get a coupon. They must be pretty fresh because you could smell the paint or chemicals when I opened the box to look at them. Good graphics too

Thank you for the feed back guys!! Good to know to wait for a 1/2 sale. I was also curious BC i have heard a few guys say they really liked the U/6 balls and choose them over everything else not strictly based off price alone either.

I still have few dozens of U6 left. Good ball. Tried UFli speed and soft and they were good, but just preferred U6 feel.

I liked the U6 Tour Soft the best of the line.

The U/3 was great for my higher handicap swing. I am uncertain of Dick’s marketing strategy but they make some great golf balls and then discontinue them, I suppose based on sales.

You are correct. Large companies look strictly at the bottom line of sales and their profit margin. The golf ball business is so competitive especially on price today. Companies Like Dick's have they feel to make a certain percentage of profit or they feel that it is not worth the time and effort. Since golf balls are a small part of their business if the profit they feel they need is not there then they will discontinue it.

The Softfli looks so good in the matte green that I am super tempted to pick up some of these even though I plan to play Snell’s MTB-X.

Asked about these at two GG today and neither had a clue when they would get the new maxfli tour or tour x in.

I get that impression when I ask anyone about anything at my local GG. I ordered from Golfworks. They are in stock there.

Interested to see if the moment of inertia alignment marking they describe will really reduce side spin & tighten dispersion when pointed toward target.

Golfworks has them in stock now also.

I'll order several several dozen as logo balls, and hand them out as give always at the course.

Ordered 25 boxes - can't do a logo on them, suspect it's due to the alignment mark.

Guess I'll need to stuff business cards in each box :-(

Just spoke to my account rep - it can be done. Excellent! Saves me from another business card order and the hassle of stuffing boxes ;-)

Have to love the service at Golfworks.

I played the U4 for 2 to 3 years. Fabulous golf ball for the price, usually $15 to $20 a dozen.

Never tried the Ufli but might have to give these a go when they offer bogo.

So back in January I had a chance to hit the Maxfli Tour ball on course in a straightest drive contest. I had to hit a new Tommy Armour model driver instead of my own with the Maxfli Tour ball. I chose a Head/ shaft combo I had hit pretty well on the range a couple of days earlier and chose the Maxfli Tour X ball because it was described as a great alternative to a Pro V1x. And because of the manufacturing process, the Maxfli Tour s billed as a very straight ball.

I had been driving the ball pretty straight anyway so take this for what it's worth. I swung and everybody who watched was amazed at how straight the ball flew. Shouts of Thats a Winner! My ball finally settled about 265 yards down the fairway about 3" off the center line. We all got a good laugh because I never do well in any contests like this but I certainly came away impressed with the ball. I'm kind of a ball snob but I definitely could play the Maxfli Tour X.

  • 2 weeks later...

Played the Maxfli tour ball yesterday for 9 holes just to test it out. When I teed it up I pointed the Moment of inertia line toward target as was mentioned in the description of the ball on the GG website. I can say that this ball goes very straight off the driver. I struggle with a fade which sometimes turns into a slice but this ball didn't waver offline at all. My good drives were almost same distance as the longer hitters in group & a couple times a tiny bit longer. Was not disappointed with the overall performance. Would give it a try if you struggle with slice.

Moment of Inertia line....thats a good one. I can't believe the kinda claims that companies can get away with.

Whether it was a placebo effect or the ball I can't really say. Just giving a quick take on how it performed for me. I didn't try not aligning the MOI line so can't say if it makes a difference. Just saying the ball went pretty straight for me & performed better than expected. As always YMMV.
