The Newport mil-spec is probably one of the best looking scottys ever. I had one a couple of years back but foolishly traded it in a pro shop. Enjoy it.

as far as OTR, I agree. love the classic look and feel of it. I wish we would see more OTR's like this in the future but I don't see it happening. makes me enjoy using it that much more.

Collectors opinions.. I have all four of the SC classic line "blades" which believe all came from the 1995 production. They all have the original shaft and shaft band as well, pretty cool!

I have had them for a while and debating if I should send them off for a full refurb and just hang on to them in thier present condition.

Any collectors ever interested in acquiring a "lot" set such as this?

I debate if they are worth anything these days or if bringing them to like new condition (keeping the original shaft band) is worth it ? I also have a 97 Teryllium with the sole stamp, debating the same thing but trying to gather more info on this better and its history.

2017 updates...

my game is getting better. looking to change my wedge choices to help around the greens but so far i'm looking to decrease my handicap. here's what's changed so far...

from 915D2 10.5 > 9.5 head

Rogue Silver stiff > Rogue Silver x

DGS300 shafts > Modus3 105x (install coming this week)

added Kirkland Signature, Bridgestone Tour B330 & Srixon Z-Star XV golf balls to my Pro V1x lineup. So far, Ksigs are in play.

2017 bag all set. installed the Modus3 105x in my irons. DGx100 (8i shafts - look it up) in my wedges and got my driver dialed in with cutting it down to 44.5". see first post.

not much changed from 2017 to 2018 other than my handicap from 9 to 4.9. hitting all clubs in my bag better than ever. starting to love my wedges. ended up getting a raw black SM6 in the same specs and removing the finish. then found a tour proto SM6 60* in raw. removed the DG x100 8 iron shafts in my wedges and put the 105x (like my irons) in the 52 and Nippon 115 wedge shaft in my 56 & 60 and loving it.

i love the 917 F2 3 wood as it's as hot any anything else out there but the driver doesn't compete with the callway rogue stuff. I will go my grave playing the pro v1 but would love for them to step up with the driver

I guess i'm content with it but know there's better out there. maybe it's also my OCD (all titleist) holding me back but the same driver and shaft for a while now, all is working and no interest in the 917 line right now - the 915 line is still suiting my game well. I have tried a friends TM M1 and damn that thing is HOTT off the face. I was a little wild with it when i was hitting it (probably all settings adjustments) but it definitely has the distance and felt great. have not tried anything else.

In 2017 and 2018 I actually moved away from playing Pro V1x even though i was an avid user. The Srixon Z Star XV in yellow has worked with my game well.

Blasphemy! LOL the new balls are best pro v1 lines ever. I was an X guy in previous years but was fit for the regular Pro V with the new line. Try the pro v1 ball and let me know your thoughts as they have switched in characteristics from years past.

ha! I was an early tester of the new V1. still didn't like it. I spun it way too much and never got the distance i liked with the V1x. I was always short on my 7i, 8i, 9i approach shots with the new V1. the Srixon fits me more being i got better distance than the V1x and same spin but also better through the wind. being an all titleist ho i am, i was also surprised i liked the Srixon so much. trust me, it's weird. I have a few boxes of V1x waiting to be used. not sure when that will be.

Great looking sets. You must be a player, indeed.

One thing..., you need to get rid of the 14 way divider bags, and go back to the 4 way tops. Real players have the bag chatter going on.

Hit em good

Driver: Ping G25

4w & 7w: Ping G25

23° Hybrid: Ping G25

5i - pw: Mizuno MP64

54° & 58°: Cleveland RTX 4 raw

Putter: The Wilson 8802 (vintage model)

Ball:  Titleist Pro V1x

i used to like the sound of irons clanking together - you knew a solid player was walking up to the first tee. though i drive 100% of the time, I love this bag and my OCD would drive me off the charts before hitting my first shot. also, if it helps with my handicap and scoring - then sure i'll get a 4 way bag. this bag doesn't eliminate it 100% so they have their fare share of chatter. though you can guarantee, when i sell clubs. they're in pretty good condition.

2019 update. not much has changed. all my clubs are doing well for me. I added a copper SM6 wedge and sanded off the rust on the other two for a new year with them. added some new SC covers, a Baja Serape bag and a new putter but hasn't gotten much play. The Mil-Spec is still in the bag. I added a black shaft for the Mil-Spec.
