That was a bit disturbing and incredulous how trusting those parents were. We kept asking ourselves WTF?

Watched a great movie on Netflix this weekend called Get Low with Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, Sissy Spacek and Lucas Black.

 

One or two GD's but other than that pretty family friendly.

How about re watch Game of Thrones, you might be done with all of them by the time the new ones roll out! I'm on re watch 5 or 6 at this point. Also, if you haven't watched Band of Brothers yet, do it. Also, Jaqen Hagar = Syrio.

started watching peaky blinders. couldn't get past 3 episodes. can't understand what anyone is saying and the speech sounds muffled or like they are mumbling.

I found that subtitles were required for this - I had the same problem understanding a lot of the brogue.

 

Watched Russian Doll last week - it was pretty good but nothing earth shattering.

I've been a fan of the Saxon stories for years and was so excited to hear that Netflix was making "The Last Kingdom" but to be honest the first two seasons disappointed. I know I know nothing is ever as good as the books. But then I was blown away by the third season. Outstanding.

 

Edit: and I guess I'll go ahead and be THAT guy. If you like Game of Thrones, do yourself a gigantic favor and read Bernard Cornwell's Arthurian trilogy. Winter King, Excalibur, and Enemy of God I think are the three books. You need to stick out the first half or so of the first book as you get through the main characters childhood and development of the characters, and then it's absolute awesomeness for two and a half more books!

 

How do you like Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott? Great description of medieval England and an engaging plot that brings in many characters of legend such as Robert Locksley and his drunk friar.

Just started Vikings, awesome show

 

Thanks for all the recommendations! I started watching The Wire and The Americans. Both amazing series so far. I noticed that the final season of Game of Thrones will be out in April of this year.

 

And it will be the greatest day in the history of television. Final round of the Masters followed by season premier of GOT.

Now that GoT is over, I find myself looking for a new series. Especially because the last season of GoT was AWFUL. Below is a list, in no specific ranking other than The Wire and The Sopranos being my two favorite by far.

4. Luther (definitely my "dark horse" GREAT show and also on Netflix. New seasons coming soon, just not sure when to the US)

HBO's _Chernobyl_ - just a 5 episode mini-series - has been really, really good. If I hadn't re-upped my subscription for GoT and Veep, I probably would have never watched it.

 

Glad I did. Outstanding acting, writing and production. And damn, was E4 difficult to watch.
