Ping I210 Long Term Reviews - Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Im looking to possibly move to a bit more forgiving iron compared to my Mizuno MP irons (Have both 53 and 15s)

My partner has i20 irons and swears by them. I've used them for a few rounds and they were a joy to hit. Very forgiving.

He has S300 in them.

I am interested in the I210 - they do look somewhat smaller than I20 but look super easy to hit.

Can anyone give me a long term review since they have been out for a few months now.

What is the difference between Normal DG S300 and the stock DG 120 that come on the I210?

I would do 4-U then 54 60 wedges probably Glide 2.0 or SM7.

Irons are really good. No major complaints except for the finish that will eventually look good.

S300 vs 120 is weight and the 120 will launch and spin a touch more from my experience. Both good shafts

For a players iron, these are pretty long. Power sepc em and they will be about half a club longer. Its a ping iron so forgiveness is in its dna.

i spin it pretty low so the powerspec is out of the question.

The reviews online are great. Just looking for some real world wrx review

Best irons I have ever owned. The softest cast irons I’ve ever hit. Getting them bent to power spec was the best decision I made with these. Good distance but doesn’t sacrifice the i210 calling card which is precision. I’ve dropped several strokes off my cap since I got my set last summer. As for the finish as long as your not careless with the clubs the finish looks fine. Just do yourself a favor and get fit for the right shaft. I initially had the DG that came with the iron and was fit and ended up with the Project X LZ. great irons

They are a highly respected iron on WRX. Go to a Ping dealer near you and try the Ping stock AWT shafts - made by Nippon - and see if you like them. Lighter than S300's but very smooth.

I played i20s for years. I hit a few with the i210s and thought they felt/sounded soft. I'm partial to the feel of KBS Tours but I tried the AWTs and really liked them as well. They offer enough shaft options now to fit just about everyone.

i'm also looking to get these this season. Coming from MP18 SC's and these are so much more forgiving, feel great, but the best thing for me is the look behind the ball. Best looking iron i've seen.

Anyone have them with the project x 6.0? I cannot choose between the 6.0 or the 120 S300

I play the Project X LZ 6.0's in these....great combo

I've loved my i210s. Really forgiving, but also very controllable and workable. I love the look of the short irons especially. Very little offset and super easy to knock down and hit different shots. I have the DG120s in them and they feel great. I would say the feedback isn't always where I'd like it. Sometimes I'll hit a shot and feel like it was mishit, but have a hard time knowing whether it was a little thin, out on the toe, etc. Anyways, I plan on holding onto mine for a good while. Also cool to see some good tour usage.

Anyone got any feedback on how much longer (if any) these are than the i20 in real-world, on-course conditions?

I'm replacing my beloved i20s this year, and the only thing I really want out of my next iron is better distance and a bit more forgiveness out of my 4-6 irons.

OP, Be aware thst Project X 6.0 and Project X LZ 6.0 are nothing alike. If you play DG and switch to either DG 120 or Project X Rifle, most likely little to no adjustment. The PX LZ has a softer mid section. A lot of players love but I prefer the Rifle.

But to answer the question, the Project X Rifle and Ping i210 is an excellent combo. I went with DG 120 S300 in a set of i200’s and it was great. It is whatever you prefer. I do think the DG 120 lineup is my favorite of the True Temper iron shafts. My next set, I am going DG 120 X100, soft-stepped once.

I hit quite a few shaft options when I was fitted and for me the DG 120 S300 is a phenomenal shaft. When you hit those two shafts side by side the 6.0 feels boardy compared to the 120 in my opinion. Similar flight as the 6.0 launched a fraction lower and spun less. With the DG 120 S300 these irons came alive and the LZ 6.0 was completely differently feel to me and was not close to the other two options. I think my next irons will be the DG 120 x100s but I am trying to learn to smooth out my tempo more so went with the s300s. The DG120 is my favorite shaft as it had all the stability of the heavier shafts but I felt like I could swing it all day long as the weight was just perfect. For comparison I came from Project x 6.5 straight in last year and these shafts still handle my swing and feel much better. I am loving the i210s except for my miss is toe side and that is a bit harsh with these irons so keep that in mind! If you stay around the middle then great precision and distance but one of those toe hits will sting those hands!

Agoodmanbk this is why I love this site. Best irons you have ever owned dropped several shots on handicap then two weeks later different irons in the signature. Great stuff.

holy tried these again today.

The are MUCH easier to hit than AP2. Misses go longer, good shots go higher and longer. They look good and feel great.

Yes. I bought a 9 iron off the Bay to try a few weeks ago. I Really liked it. Bought a whole set off BST tonight.

Amazing feeling for a cast club. Nice high launch. Flightable. Mid spin.

I’m deciding between the i210 and Mp18 SC’s right now. Any feedback on the SC’s for me. Ive only hit them inside so far, but can’t imagine another club could feel that great. I’m switching from 714 AP2’s which I’ve had since they launched in ‘13. They have been great, but have been beaten and battered over the last 5-6 years and definitely show their age.

SC are much less forgiving. The feel better but not that much better. The i210 feel great for a cast club.

I wanted SC18 but at this part of my golfing life I can't hit them.

I have played i210s since octobre last year, coming from MP5s which I really loved, these are keepers for sure.

Easy great feel and I , of course, reshafted to C-taper and they are even better.

I´ll hang on to these and will just do some custom ferrules from BB- if I only can decide which

Highly recomended

You know what's funny I was going through all of my content making sure I updated my thoughts....came across this haha. Since I got the i210's in August of last year they were. Then I tried the Mizuno HM Pro's and they kicked the i210's out of the bag. To each their own but as mentioned another reason why this site can be hilarious at times

The SC's are great irons. When hit correctly, they give you that soft, tingly mizuno feel that you become addicted to. Looks wise they are not intimidating behind the ball and they perform as expected. One thing I will say is make sure you have the correct shaft. They will respond to the swing given to them, with a little forgiveness you may expect from a split cavity. For me, the i210's have been even more forgiving when testing and I absolutely love how they look behind the ball.
