Does anyone know if you will be able to order the Toulon putters without the stroke lab shaft through the Garage?

It’s sad to see such a beautiful putter without the Toulon logo. I get what Odyssey is doing... but it’s disappointing.

Yup

It will be interesting to see the badging on the Garage putters though

Maybe that will make the Garage line even more unique if they keeep the Toulon badging

Yes... that would be a great idea. Would make putters from the Garage easily distinguishable from retail and would probably add value to Garage putters.

Sure hope so

Dunno why, the odyssey badging bugs me

God I hope so stroke lab makes them piles of sh*t

That’s unfair. I rolled a Stroke Lab One over the weekend and what the shaft does seem to do it bring down the swing weight. Marketing spin aside, it just felt a lot lighter, like my old original era White Hot #1 (or any other lighter putter from years ago). The thing is, if I wanted that feel I would just throw the #1 back in my bag. There was nothing wrong with that putter other than that I started to like a heavier feel.

Including the Stroke Lab shafts in all Toulons, at least via the Garage, would be a mistake though—it’s great the Stroke Lab is on the market as a shaft option but I suspect it’s going to be far from universally loved. What it might be is the start of shafts being taken more seriously in putters as a tweakable component. If it disappears I bet a few die hards will be raving about it in a few years.

I hope so and would imagine you can.

I was told, without exception, all Odyssey and Toulon putters will hav3 the Stroke Lab shaft. That’s how much they believe in it.

Well if that's true, it's a bummer. Really wanted one because of the fully milled face.

Not very hard to switch out a putter shaft, or have it done.

Here It is

Nice. I'd like that finish on a current Austin, not the ones coming with Odyssey badging all over.

I know I could do it myself, but if I'm going to pay that much money for a putter, I'm not going to pay more money to swap out a shaft. If I couldn't do it myself, you're looking at another $40 (give or take, depending on the cost of the putter shaft) to get it reshafted at a place like Golf Galaxy when you throw in the cost of a new shaft, labor and putter grip.

All I'm saying is, at that price, having the option to get the shaft you want in it would be nice. Not all customers that want that putter will want the Stroke Lab technology. I can wait a few years for the price to drop and get it cheaper, and swap the shaft. If the Stroke Lab is a hit, then they'll keep it around a lot longer. Only time will tell with that. The Toulon is just a want at the moment.

The club is designed around that shaft. When people start swapping the shaft out, and the head feels too heavy, I wonder what the next complaint will be?

They're just plugging the SL shaft into the existing Toulon heads, which only seem to be getting some cosmetic changes. These were designed around the shaft.

The new Toulons do seem heavier. The Austin is 360g vs 350g for the older model.

The new ones all seem to be 360-365. Which goes with the Stroke Lab design I suppose. I'm still curious what the swingweight comes out at, especially on the 365 ones.

Is that with the lightest weight installed? I’m looking at the specs on the Odyssey website right now:

San Diego - 365g - picture shows the middle 20g weight is installed but no mention of the weight in the specs.

Austin - 360g - again the 20g weight.

Azalea - 345g - ditto 20g weight in photo.

IIRC 7g was stock last year but I could be wrong. Anyway, I think it’s odd to say the putter was designed around the shaft when part of the putter design is the ability to swap out weights for feel/preference. Do they think a heavier head meshes better with the SL shaft if it’s the case they’re shipping a heavier stock weight this year?

I have been told that my Las Vegas is shipping around March 8. They are waiting on more heads. So in store stock could be spotty.

PGATSS had both the Las Vegas and Atlanta slant necks. I was not as impressed with the Las Vegas as I was hoping for. I have a WHP #7 that I enjoy rolling every once and a while so I like the shape. The Las Vegas felt very soft. Almost too soft and a little more spring to it than I prefer.

I really like the original Atlanta and the new one is just as good. The feel is soft but solid. Not sure what it is about the Atlanta but it just feels more solid than the other models.

If Sean Toulon or anybody high up in Odyssey is checking on this post......WTF with all the Odyssey branding?!?!? The previous generation of Toulon putters were almost perfect, if you simply added the full face diamond cross hatch milling to the prior gen putters it would a have been a homerun. Rant over lol.

I would agree with you and am guessing that Sean would as well-in private.

I have a hard time understanding why Callaway/Odyssey would aquire Toulon as their premium brand and then splash the parent company name all over the product. Cheapens it imo.
