Next USA Golf Trip to ????

Recommended Posts

My two cents, give Northern Michigan a chance. If you have two weeks to bounce around, you are going to be able to hit a collection of really incredible resort courses that won't break the bank too bad (especially if you are doing it shoulder season).

The nice thing about this trip is that you have several places where you can set up shop for a couple of days and don't need to do a bunch of one course stops. Arcadia Bluffs gives you two courses, Forest Dunes gets you three (playing the loop both ways). Both of these have solid accommodations as well. If you guys like to gamble, Grand Traverse Resort has three courses and is closer to amenities that some of the more remote sites don't offer. Treetops leaves something to be desired accommodation wise, but you've got access to a slew of courses, Shanty Creek as well.

If you are doing a summer trip, ditto on the ferry ride, would allow you to combo the best of both worlds with Wisconsin and Michigan in one fell swoop.

We have been to Scottsdale, Bandon and Monterey so the choice is Wisconsin in October 2020 just after the Ryder Cup at Kohler.

Tentative schedule is to fly into Milwaukee then play:

Lawsonia,

Mascoutin,

Sand Valley/Mammoth Dunes,

Whistling Straits,

Blackwolf Run,

The Bull at pinehurst farms,

Erin Hills

and maybe Wash County or Brown Deer.

Sentryworld was considered but maybe a little too prim.

Two weeks should cover it nicely including travel time to and from Aus.

More than a year and a half away but I am excited!

If you’re coming all this way skip brown deer and play sentry world instead. Brown deer isn’t much more than a well maintained county course, Sentry World is far better.
