Hzrdus Red vs Evenflow Blue Driver shaft

I'm currently using a Hzrdus Red on an Epic sub zero which I love. I'm considering putting one on the M3 head I have on the way, but the Evenflow Blue seems to have a similar profile.

 

Does anyone have experience with the two and can give me some advice? Thank you!

I play a Even Flow Blue 65 in my driver and a HZRDUS Red 75 in my fairway. I really like both shafts but for different reasons.

 

I tried a Red 65 in a driver last summer with bad results (prior to getting the EF Blue...played a HZRDUS Yellow before then). I really like the Red in my fairway but it just didn't work in the driver. Since I didn't have the EF and the Red at the same time, I can't really comment about performance (flight, spin, etc.).

 

When it comes to feel, they are quite a bit different. The Red has a very stiff feel to it....stiff butt and mid section override the softer tip feel to me. When I hit it, it feels stiff but launches high. The EF Blue has more of a soft mid section feel. Firm butt and firm tip but the softer middle makes it feel very smooth. It feels very different than the HZRDUS line.

 

I think the more comparable PX shafts are the EF Blue and the HZRDUS Yellow. Yes, the Yellow is counterbalanced but it is the smoothest feeling HZRDUS shaft IMO with it's constant taper design. It still feels "stiffer" than the EF Blue. I really like both shafts and had the EF Blue not come around I would still be playing the Yellow.

Thanks Johnny T, that helps a lot. I like the firmness and launch of the Red, and I don't like shafts the feel soft in the middle so I will mostly likely get a Red for the M3. Thanks again!

i have the HZRDUS black and have had it in both my M2 and now my Epic head. And i love this shaft, probably my best golf purchase of 2017.

These were the 2 I debated when I bought my F8 driver. I like the Even flow but my dispersion isn't great. I am buying a new 4 wood soon but don't know which shaft to go with.

Totally different beasts. The red is a hzrdus Black with a softer tip which was built to help pros who liked the black turn the ball over. Hzrdus was designed with performance in mind and never considered feel in the equation. Blue was built with feel in the equation.

The HZRDUS red is a slightly less stiff tip HZRDUS black. I can tell you the HZRDUS red 6.5 is super stiff and anti left and mildly a mid launching shaft. It’s stiff enough that a 6.0 should be plenty in a driver at a 110 mph swing speed. I’d stick to an evenflow for a fairway. I might pick a 6.0 up for my m5 tour on order
