Apex Pro vs Mp18 MMC vs Cobra Forged Tech Black

Just finished an iron fitting at club champion and was fit for the new Apex Pro with ctaper S+ shafts. I was really hoping to try the MP18 MMC and the Cobra FTB after reading such good things here. Unfortunately the heads for the MMC and FTB were damaged so I couldn’t try them.

 

Coming from MP18 MB with Modus 120x but don’t play enough so looking for something with a little more help on my off days.

 

Has anyone hit all 3 and can share their thoughts?

Were they getting new demo heads coming in from Cobra and Mizuno? I know Club Champion has pretty good customer service so I'd reach out to either the fitter or manager or someone and explain that you didn't get to try all that you wanted due to the damaged fitting heads and I'm sure they'll let you come in again and re-fit when you can compare all 3.

I've hit the APEX Pro with Elevate and gamed the MP-18 MMC combo with Modus3 Tour 120s end of last season.. without doubt for me, the MMC's felt and performed better.. easy to launch. That said, I purchased a set of 919 Tours a couple weeks ago and first few trips on the indoor sim have me liking them very much.

Just getting my Forged Tec Blacks dialed in, but so far I'm impressed. Nice soft feel

Haven't tried the 19 Apex pro yet.

Mizuno seems to have lost that butter feeling the past 6 years or so in their MP line. Still great feeling but not like my old MP30s.

I played the Apex CF16s and thought I would end up with the new ones or the Pros. The MMC was the standout to me and have added them to the bag. They are even better than I hoped for. Especially coming from the MP 18 blade, it should be a very easy transition.

I have owned all 3. I am currently playing the apex pro. I like the turf interaction the best and feel like they are as forgiving or more forgiving than the others. They are very workable too. I liked the feel of the cobras but could never quite get the same ball speed with them. I think it was the sole.

MMC’s all the way. Best combo of feel, distance, playability and forgiveness out of the clubs you mentioned.

I certainly hope you didn’t have to pay for an iron fitting if you didn’t get to try the clubs you wanted. That’s not how a fitting should work.. You hit the clubs you are interested in and they dial in the correct shaft, length, lie and grip.

 

You use must be going back once they get the others “fixed”....correct?

All good irons. Only negative thing I have to say is the MMC PW is UGLY
