Update: I want to thank you all for the thoughts and recommendations. So.....I go to Golf Galaxy with a $50 gift card and $50 off $250 coupon ($100 total “in my pocket”) prepared to walk out with something shiny and new. I always go to the Used section first to poke around. Long story short: I walked out with an 17.5* R7 TP with the Diamana 83 Blueboard stiff for......$29.99. I couldn’t pass it up. Almost felt like it was meant to be. It’s in 8/10 shape, has a smaller head(I can’t get along with larger ones off the deck, mental thing), and has the Blueboard, a shaft I always loved. For that price I feel like it’s a worthwhile gamble.

G400 5 wood, easy to hit, put it in the bag last year and it's in no danger of being replaced. Point and shoot full send

I have been really happy with the G400 5 wood. Like you, no danger of being replaced, which is rare in my fairway woods fleet. Put the Fujikura Pro 2.0 shaft in it, dialed down 1 degree and it is now the go to. Could also go up a degree if you like from 17.5. Might be worth a look.

After reading Tom Wishon's book, the search for the perfect club, about 10 years ago. I always use shorter shafts.

Try the Pinhawk Single Length fairway wood, just the 16* 3 wood which is essentially a 4 wood. The length is 41.5 inches. I paired mine up with a Matrix White Tie and it's an easy to hit fairway off the deck.

Winter here in the Midwest so golf is non existent. I am very happy with my WITB but I am thinking of getting a 5 wood. The Rogue SubZero 3 wood is an absolute cannon off the tee but my confidence is nil off the deck. I am looking for something fairly compact that elevates well off the deck AND, more importantly, will go through the rough easily. My SS with driver is around 100. I plan to try out the SubZero 5 wood but am also pondering something that loft can be adjusted on. Oh, and I am not looking at the latest lines, as I have SubZero interest in dropping $300 for a 5 wood. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I had the same dilemma as I have pretty much the same setup as your bag and was looking to get rid of my 19* M2 Hybrid for a 5 wood since I needed something for my 2nd shot into par 5s uphill 225-230 yards and my 19* Hybrid was coming up about 5 yards short or too low.

I went to a M3 19* 5 wood and it's perfect as it is adjustable. Goes well with my M4 Tour 15* 3 wood. Taylormadepreowned has them for 20% off right now I think.

Good luck in your hunt

Cobra F6 baffler. Along with my LTD, my woods are the oldest clubs in the my bag

I took my new F6 Baffler out on the course for the first time on Sunday. I wish I got one sooner. It's easy to hit and get up in the air, or hit lower if you need to.

I would share, but it would get lost in this thread. Most only tried handful of fairway woods and post up what they found that works for them.

I mean isn’t that how recommendations are usually made. I tried a product I liked and recommended it. I’ve never hit an epic so I won’t say “hey man definitely go buy that one.” Just my thinking tho

For those of you who have recommended the f6 baffler, have you compared it to the f7 baffler, is it better, or is it a case of "aint broke, don't fix it" and not tried anything since?...

I have not compared it to the F7 baffler, but the reviews I've seen about the F7 have been positive. I just purchased my F6 baffler, but the other club I would suggest would be the old grey Adams XTD Super Hybrid. I have one in 19*, and it's a very solid option with the right hybrid shaft. It launches high, without too much spin, and has no issue holding greens. They 17* could also work depending on the gapping someone is looking to fill.

Another vote for the f6 baffler. It's such a good feeling when you stand over the ball knowing you have total confidence that you are going to hit a great shot! That's what the baffler is for me.

Just bought a Royal Collection 18* BBDs Tour VS head for about $20 on ebay, going to install a spare UST Elements Wind 7x at 42" and give it a go. Seemed like a potentially fun combo, I've never tried a Sonartec/RC head but always wanted to.

I would check out some Tour issue Aeroburner heads on fleabay. A few years back i bought a slightly flatter, slightly open faced 5 wood. Added 8g of hotmelt and it has stuck with me since.

Its a great size, headshape, you can hand select FA and loft, and...best of all..very affordable.

$70 brand new. I bought one a month ago but the 20”+ of snow in WI this month has had it impatiently waiting to be hit.

That's where I got mine from. I had $30 laying around in PayPal that made the deal even better!

Love the cobra baffler stuff. Currently have an F8 5w with Graphite Design ADIZ. Never tried the F6, but love the F8. Something about those rails gives me confidence off the deck.

I like reading this! Everything I see about those rails equates to them being money off the deck. I am so close to swapping out my M3 fairways for F8 fairways.

I about to make the same decision. Looking at a Rogue 5w and looking at Tensei Pro Blue, Pro Red, or IZ

Have you tested each shaft?
