Might as well add these factors to the list in comparing the Pings -

  • feel
  • sound
  • looks behind ball (topline)
  • Turf interaction

Thanks.

1. Distance control - iBlade as it spins more

2. Workability - iBlade as it spins more

3. Trajectory - iBlade higher

4. Distance - i210 further as it spins a bit less

Get whatever you like looking at. i210 is great if you get the right fit and the spin is up there. Don't know how you hit the ball so I'd test both. iBlade will be more demanding to hit. i210 is GI easy to hit to me.

How do they compare regarding:

1. Distance control

2. Workability

3. Trajectory

4. Distance

Thanks in advance.

I've had iblades with s300 for about 3 months now. I've only hit the i210 irons in a demo setting so I'll speak mostly about the iblades. When demoing they performed similarly, so I got smaller head version.

Distance control - very positive. Been able to hit 3/4 shots with them very easily.

Workability- not too much compared to other clubs I've used. They are not really blades. They just go straight for me which I like.

Trajectory - this will be shaft dependent. With old school dg s300 they are pretty medium. I'm sure you can fly them higher with a different shaft.

Distance - nothing crazy. My 8 iron goes 150 which is what I want.

Feel, sound - nothing special, feels like a cast iron

Looks - I prefer the smaller profile of the iblades but that's what I am used to. The i210's seem like shovels with a narrower sole ( which may work for a lot of people)

Turf - this is why I got these clubs. I'm pretty steep and take large divots. The extra bounce with the iblades compared to a Titleist and Mizuno blade should help but I'm not really sure. I'm sort of looking at srixon irons on the BST forum to go a different direction.

Love the looks of iBlade, but 210s feel softer, about 1/2 club longer for me. I have no issues with consistency with either iron and can work both equally. ;)

Gotta disagree on the feel Golf. The iblade feels much better than the 210's in my opinion. Of course, my iblades have steelfiber shafts in them and the 210's I hit had KBS tours.

Somewhat amusingly, the MOI of the iBlade and i210 are fairly close, there's not much difference between them.

The CG of the i210 is higher than the iBlade, also, .913 vs .850.

Tested both with the same shaft. On well struck shots I had pretty much identical results. Spin, distance, everything. They also look very similar at address until you get to the 6 iron. I think iblades are one of the best looking irons out there and I’m sure I’d be happy with either. For me came down to forgiveness as mis hits were quite a bit better with i210s. Also, the long irons is where the i210s really shine. Extremely easy to hit.

Agree with the long irons... I've left my 4 iron in the garage with my past iron sets, but I've been able to bag the I210 4 iron. It has become my sure-fire 215 yrd club off the tee and is fantastic from the fairway.

IMO the optimal combo set is the iBlade with the i E1 long irons. The i E1 and iBlade have similar COG while the i200 and i210 both have high centers of gravity. I think the i E1 plays more in line with the iBlade going from long irons to short because the i E1 is so easy to elevate. I don’t really find much difference between the iBlades and the 200/210 in most ways, but I can see the larger head of the i E1/i200/i210 adding confidence. Of those don’t overlook the i E1 just because it is older and does not look as similar. Design-wise it fits right in.

I assume there is a reason a good portion of Ping staffers opt for either i210/i200 or S55

Spin and launch angle? Maybe looks? <shrug>

I played the i210's and I am currently playing the iBlades after moving from some Apex CF16's. For me the iBlades are superior to the i210's in every way. Personally, I would just take the savings and play the i200's as I also think they are a superior club offering to the i210's.

For me the iBlades have been just short of my CF16's in terms of distance even with traditional lofts. They are long for a traditional lofted club. That said, my distances are very consistent, within 2-3 yards on average on similar shots. So in that regard, I have been quite pleased.

Workability has been the one thing I am still dialing in. The clubs are very workable, but sometimes I get an overworked shot, but that's down to my execution (forgetting to invite my legs to the party) not the club.

The iBlades fly pretty high. I am a low/mid ball hitter and I feel like I unlocked some secret stash of shot height with the iBlades.

In terms of feel, sound, and looks I just love them. They are quite soft for a forged offering. It actually came down to the MP18 MB's and the iBlades, they were relatively equal clubs through my testing sessions, but the long iron forgiveness on the iBlades was just too good for a players offering. The iBlades are way more forgiving than the i210's and feel a ton better.
