TecTecTec Rangefinder

Recommended Posts

I'm currently in the process of researching rangefinders and TecTecTec came up a few times in reviews, recommendations, searches, etc.

The price is very appealing at $150 plus free shipping for their basic rangefinder which is all I really need.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them, pros and cons, comparison to others like the Precision Pro line or anything really.

I'd like to have a rangefinder in my bag by start of the season which is maybe 4-6 weeks away where I'm at.

I believe Costco is up your way. If so see if they carry the Caddytec unit for sale. Down here its $150 with slope. The reason I went with was no question return or replace. My unit works just find on all features.

I do but don't think they carry that one, site only has Bushnell ProX2 and Tour V4 along with a Coolshot 40i. But I'll check in person and see this weekend possibly.

I have owned two. The first one worked great for well over a year until my kids decided to pretty much dunk it in water. The second one was pretty horrible. Measured distance fine but the slope calculation was always way off, reading pretty much everything as downhill. I have a precision pro now and it's the best rangefinder I've ever used, including bushnell and leopold.

Take a look at the Golf Buddy LR7, it is state of the Art Laser technology and I would put it up against any of the much pricier brands Like Bushnell's V4 at $329...they were at $199 which is just a bit more than some No names but wont break the bank! Good luck.

I'll look at that one as well. I've never heard of this brand but will look into them more.

Amazon Canada has them for $300 Canadian which isn't awful but pushing upper end of what I want to spend.

Was the first one a VPRO500 or did it have the slope feature? I'm not sure if I want slope or really need it. But if I get one I'll be sure not to dunk it in water.

The Precision Pro is up there on my list for sure, could be the one I grab due to reviews, customer service and discount too.

They both had slope feature and honestly I'd go one step further and just avoid having little kids.

Good to know and don't worry I don't plan on having any, can't afford them, golf is cheaper lol.

Thanks for that, didn't know about the Care Package, I'll look into that as well.

I've had one for two years. Hasn't failed me. Locks on perfectly. Change battery once during season.

X2 on this. I've also put it up against at least 5 different GPS devices and mobile apps and it has been just as or more accurate/consistent.

Good to hear some people really enjoying them. The price is really hard to pass up for sure, will see if others have things to say.

I almost returned my the very first day as it couldn't pick up the flag. Then I realized I didn't have it set to lock on!

What version do you have? Thanks!
