For 35-$50 an hour you could play 18 holes on a real golf course pretty much year round here in Raleigh.

Might be a good idea in say... Chicago.

18 holes, 1 hour or less including warmup for a single. 2 hours for two people. Not the same as outdoors, but good fun. Sim'scan have their place in the golf world.

There was one in southern pines for years but, never really got any business. Maybe if this can get the younger generation in it could do better. They had 2 with a range down there this looks like it's only one simulator.... Don't see it doing well but, who knows I could be wrong.

A Top Golf in the Triangle would draw the younger crowd for sure.

I agree they are putting in some sort of top golf like facility here called Drive Shack sometime soon they say.

I stopped by and visited earlier this week and ended up joining. For me, being able to pop in and work on my swing or play 9 on the SIM is worth it but I know it wont be for all.

Any interest in getting a Raleigh WRX event out there? Would be easy to set up and a good time if we could get 4-8 people to show up

They have 2 hitting bays. The model is a club model where you pay a certain amount for unlimited use per month. They have one plan where you get lessons from the pro and one where you just get privileges to hit balls or play on the SIM.

As a non-member you can still reserve one of the bays for $50/hour I think

Didn’t realize it was only 2 bays. Thanks for the additional info. Thought it was interesting idea from the original article I posted but for those prices and only 2 bays not sure how long this will last.

I hope it lasts for a while. I've gone 3 times now and am really enjoying it so far. Great way to hit balls at lunch and not be out in this sun and the husband and wife that run it couldn't be nicer.

Haven’t been at lunch yet. I usually go early to mid afternoon and have not had an issue booking a bay

Pretty new to Raleigh. Trying this place out Saturday. Any Raleigh golfers looking for people to practice with hit me up. I haven’t played much in last 5 years with work demands but I used to be a good golfer. Gearing up to get serious about the game this year.

What courses have you been to so far in Raleigh?

A few of us on here are members at Wildwood Green.

I have been to Wildwood for a superball tournament. Nice little place. Not a big fan of the range. How busy is it around 5pm. I want to try to walk and practice a bunch after work

I’m debating joining at brier creek. Anyone have any experience there?

The range at Wildwood is not good so I rarely use it. I don’t really need to though because there are plenty of opportunities to just practice out on the course. The last few weeks before the time change I’ve been able to go out around 4:30 and it’s been pretty open. With the time change, I’d expect it to be a bit more crowded until 5 or 5:30. Once you get past the point where people can comfortably play 9 before dark you’re usually good to go. Sunday afternoons 3:00 or later are usually good for practice in the winter. In the summer, I like going out after 7:00 to practice.

I enjoy walking and practicing in the afternoon. If you want any company and not in a big rush to play some holes and maybe hit a couple of balls PM me. I’ll check it out. I decided that so far I’m going to remain a free agent on course memebership until I find some folks to play with. I will say that River ridge northe of Clayton is awesome and my first choice so far.
