Catalyst 80, 100 vs Recoil oem 95, 110, ES780

Anyone played or knowledgeable of both Catalyst and Recoil iron shafts?

Catalyst available routinely with Apex '19.

I don't know the Callaway line very well, .370 or .355? So are the Apex Catalyst shafts CW or descending wt?

I know the recoils are commonplace...anybody playing the Catalyst 100?

The Catalyst 100s in the Apex Pros are constant weight, taper tip.

 

The Catalyst in the standard Apex are parallel .379 descending weight.

 

Catalyst will play stiffer than Recoil.

Thanks - how do they handle combo sets? I assume they just use one version of catalyst through set somehow?

 

Do the CW tapers play firmer, lower torque etc?

Bump. I’m interested in this conversation, as I am considering an Apex combo set with the Catalyst 100.

I just loaded a Catalyst 80 stiff parallel in a Callaway XR Pro 4i that I wanted to experiment with for a driving iron since the XR Pro is 21.5. Hope to get it out to the range tomorrow I play Recoil 95s in my irons but wants to try the Catalyst. Looks great in matte finish

So the hosels in the combo set are bore to .370 so that they will accept both taper or parallel.

Finally got out to range test the xr pro 4i with Catalyst 80 s. No numbers. But lll say it was amazing feel and launch. Compared it to my gamer Adams 9031 hybrid and a G410 19 deg I was testing and the xr withe Catalyst was clear winner. Really liked how ball reached apex and planned out. I had tried this new xr pro head in steel xp 105 and it spun up and feel was not good. Anyway its an early impression but very impressed with the Catalyst 80. Have a game in the morning and Ill let it take the 4 hybrid spot in bag.

I could see building an iron set with these for sure and Im a long time Recoil 95 player

I am going to build a set of Miura CB-2008 with Catalyst 100 6.0 Reply to thread if anyones is still interested and I will post a review once I get them built. It will probably be a week or so as work is well......Work.
