Bridgestone Nicklaus Black $9.99/doz

Does anyone know anything about this ball or have you ever played them? Less than a dollar per ball for a “tour level ball”. I just can’t find any information on them at all. I seem to conclude that they are urethane... Are they 3 piece or 4 piece? Do they spin off the planet and are they mushy? I’d be willing to order a bunch for that price if anyone knows anything about them.

Yes I followed all the Google links and did a search here. Still looking for real information like compression, cover, how many pieces, etc...

Can’t find it now, but I recall an interview where they detailed a few specs. Don’t recall the stated compression (it was likely core compression given that these were produced by Bridgestone) but the black model was a 4-piece (dual mantle, single core) with urethane cover much like the B330/S at the time.

Ya I cant find anything with actual specs but everyone says it's a urethane cover and that "the black balls are intended for players who play off the black tees".

Why would this ball even have a "practice" version? I doubt tour players were using it at the range at tour events

Haha that’s a fair point. I would assume paint blems maybe, but who knows.

I picked up a dozen last year and to me they seem VERY similar to the Srixon XV. Cant remember exactly but i wanna say the cover wasnt a very soft urethane (if it is urethane) like the ProV or ChromeSofts. Id guess compression was around 80-90 or similar to ProV1x. I liked them bc the cover didnt scuff too easily specially since im REALLY good at using cart paths for that extra distance and trees for house bounces. Spin was ok though there are lots of balls that spin more. Great ball specially for $10. They also have a pretty neat proposition on Nicklaus website giving you the option of donating to charity when you buy and even a subscription service to automatically recieve balls when you choose.

Correct. Minor cosmetic blemishes. If you can get past the fact that the balls have practice stamped on them there are frequently some really good deals to be had.
