Callaway epic flash? is this legit? (New Pics added Pg 1)

Thanks. Yah I liked that Vader look with just a bit of red. I wish I could black out the white writing. How would one best black that out without it looking cheap?

I'm also not a big fan of the Ironman looking face on all the flash drivers. But oh well.

But you can still see the green and yellow thin stripes on the back of the crown ?

Am I doing it right?

Got my setting right. Cranked way over to fade. It really helped me keep the face from slamming shut as I tend to get "handsy."

Also that last photo I added shows what looks like a little port into the head. Never noticed this before. I hope this isn't just on mine...

That looks lots better. The jailbreak looks like TM injected face........

Having a difficult time trying to decide which shaft to go with for the Epic Flash Sub Zero 3 wood. I'm looking for a low launch and low spin shaft in the 80 g range. Callaway doesn't have some of the shafts in the 80 g range that I would prefer so it's rather difficult trying to decide which shaft without being able to hit all of these before ordering. Shafts I'm considering based on few shafts in the weight range I'm looking for are:

Project x hzrus yellow 85

Fujikura pro 2.0 tour spec 8

Graphite Design Tour AD TP-8 or IZ-8

Just looking for thoughts on these shafts for anyone that has used them. My 3 wood swing speed is 110-115 mph range. GD Tour AD TP seems like it would be best for me but does have the most expensive upcharge and I haven't heard much about it compared to the IZ. Would like to buy an 80 g Tensei Pro Orange or White but can't find them for the Epic Flash Subzero fairway. Can buy the 70 g but have that weight for my driver so it doesn't seem ideal.

Love the IZ 8s in my Rogue 5w, and I think it plays true to flex. I have the IZ 7x in my Rogue 3w and again, true to flex and low to medium ball flight. Might need to find a 6tx for my driver...

So....how do u get an Epic Flash to D2 at 44.75 inches if the stock weight is 16G?

You’d need to add 6-7 grams to the head. Stock length is 45.5, and swingweight is supposed to be D3. Losing 3/4” would drop swingweight about 4.5 points, so to make up the 3.5 points you want to get it to D2, assuming 2g=1sw pt, you’d need 7g. I don’t know how easy it is to get a 22-23-24 gram weight, so hotmelt might be your best option

I was reading that Callaway would SW if requested if possible. I figured hotmelt would be the only solution. Billybobs weights only go up to 17G.

Idk if any higher weights are floating around. Might be a chore to get what I would really want. I would have to get the custom color I want THEN send it somewhere for hotmelt. They make it harder than it should be.

Two 12 gram sliding weights? Go animal style!

From what I'm hearing, Callaway customer service may be more than happy to send them.

I don't know about the old weights. But the Epic Flash SZ had a 12 gram sliding weight. Should be able to fit two of those in there.

From what I've read, Callaway has sent out heavier sliding weights for those that have asked. At the very worst, you can just buy a couple from the interwebs.

They sent me 16 & 20g weights at no charge when I called, no questions asked after a 2 minute phone call. I’ve heard from others they may have tightened up on that, though. If you bought through an authorized channel, and can show that, I’d think they’d be fairly accommodating.

The other day I ordered a Epic Flash driver and fairway with AD-IZ shafts and was quoted 2 weeks backorder. The clubs shipped the very next day and I’ll have them in my hands on Monday. Seems like they’re cranking these things out quick.

Same setup for me and it was 7 days, Monday to Monday. Enjoy!

(I think the 3w is the star of the new releases though...)

Honestly, if you're fit into Flash and love it, the $70 isn't TOO steep.

How much would Continental charge for something similar?

Also, has anybody here added hotmelt into the fairways? If so, did it help mute/soften the sound at all?

I have a flash SZ driver and a flash 3w. The sound is total different between them. Driver is loud and the 3 wood is a muted thump.

Maybe because I'm a slower swinger but the sound/feel is just explosive....certainly not loud or obnoxious like a Nike Sumo

I agreed about the 3w being a star. Definitely the easiest and straightest 3w I ever hit off the tee and especially off the deck.
