Headed to the Texas Turfgrass conference at Lost Pines tomorrow. Anybody going?

 

Wondering what kind of shape Wolfdancer is in.

Played it about 2 months ago and some of the greens were looking a little rough and from what I've heard they've gotten worse since then. Apparently some of the teeboxes are also going, sad to hear since it's a great course. What I heard was some sort of fungus got in a water source and they sprayed the greens with it before realizing, not sure if it's true but something went wrong for sure.

Look in Austin thread. They run course with minimal expenses. Fungus is just an excuse courses use for lack of care.

The two muni courses in my area (not that far from Bastrop) are in fantastic shape and have no winter kill. Am supposed to play Wolfdancer in November. May have to take a look before doing so.

Played Wolfdancer three times last week. Yes, a few of the greens have some bad spots, but, during 3.5 rounds I can only remember having to deal with them a couple times. The holes were cut in good places and if you miss all your greens like I do, you just chip over them-haha. Customer service was great and made me feel very welcome; almost felt like it was my home course by the time I left. The club sandwich after every round was great too.

Played wolfdancer today. The greens were quite bad. Many have sand craters. It’s pretty sad.

 

I talked to the starters and they were pretty open about the conditions. Sounds like they are scrambling for anything to help, but yeah... I’d steer clear unless you score a sub-$50 rate.

had a friend play it a few weeks ago and said it was back to being in good shape...however, with all the recent rain and more coming this week I would bet it is pretty sloppy in its current state

Just played Wolfdancer last Sunday. The service is great but the course is nothing special. The greens are tiny and in terrible shape. Definitely not worth the $125 green fee.
