Some courses here charge more than double their summer rates. Are there any other sports where the rates change according to the weather?

Downhill skiing? You can get on the slopes pretty cheap in the summer.

Are there any other sports that are played in such a variety of settings? It seems like a logical outcome from a market economy. If there's more demand, the price goes up.

You live in a tourist area that has weather that can be 25+ degrees warmer than a lot of other areas during the winter months. That increases demand which naturally drives pricing.

Indoor tennis rates, although I think the price increase isn't anywhere near a doubling from low to high season.

Winter/Summer rates in the South definitely change, they charge what the market will bear. Phoenix summer golf is half, maybe less, winter rates.

 

If golf still is allowed under socialism, the price will be dictated by the Government.

Pretty sure you can sit in Soldier Field for nothing in July.

 

Pretty sure any activity "in season" costs more whatever "in season" means, whether it's nature or some other reason.

Chicago suburbs are really bad. You can’t get on a decent course for under $80 with a cart. Some of these courses will get you a slight break in the offseason
