Matte black putter shaft

Anybody have any recommendations for a matte black putter shaft with a .355? I've been looking at eBay but it seems they're just painted by a third party. Seems like KBS is putting one out but cost might be prohibitive for the back up putter I'm thinking of putting it in. I've seen on the forum people recommend using a 2 iron shaft. Thanks.

I think KBS only does theirs in a .370

Kbs C Taper Limited black in wedge flex will do the trick for .355...could go 120 S or 130 X depending on how rigid you want it

I have used the eBay ones and they are good. One didn't really fit over my spider but oh well. The other eBay ones I have are great.

 

But with that said the 2 putters in my rotation with black shafts are shrink wrap...

I also have one with white shrink wrap but I'll probably pull that off

K so figured I would jump back in here. the shrink tube I purchased was THICK. Not the inner diameter, but the actual shrink material itself. Once it shrunk down as far as it would go, I would say it was at least 1/10-1/8" thick around the shaft. It was noticable when trying to install the shaft, you could see a noticable knuckle. It's important to note this was on a single bend shaft, so on a plumbers nect (where the shaft is already quite a bit smaller than the OD of the hosel) it would be much less noticable.

So I just purchased some of these (link above) as well. If it’s so thick, I assume you’d do the shrink wrap after the shaft has been installed, and not before?

 

Also, what kind of heat do you recommend? Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

I did the shrink wrap with the shaft installed, then touched up around the hosel with an exacting knife

I did it with the shaft not installed, but I don't recommend using the one I used. Stuff is SUPER thick even when shrunk all the way down. I maybe should have gone with a 4:1 ration shrink instead of 2:1 but I decided on Cerakoting the shaft, since I already did the putter head in Cerakote as well

This. A 30ft roll is a few bucks and takes about 30s to install. Only downside is you gotta cut off your current grip. Suggest if you already don't, get a little air compressor and learn to blow grips on and off. The shrink tube does scuff rather fast, and if you're anal like me, you'll be changing the tubing a few times per season.

 

As far as heat goes... You should be able to use a hair dryer on the "hot" setting if there's a choice between cool/warm/hot. If you have a heat gun you can set it on like 450* and it shrinks on very fast. Just make sure you fan it back and forth don't leave it in one spot for too long.

Used my lady's hair dryer on the stuff I used and it was VERY slow to go. I recommend a heat gun

Truth, get mine there and they use true temper and do a heat treated polymer, lots of different black options and always good quality. DYI project on this seems a bit risky to get it super smooth but more power to you if you can pull it off.
