Par 3 Tee Shot = 148 Yards. 2nd Shot = 179 yards.

Guy playing in my foursome in league play today power faded (sliced) his tee shot on an uphill Par 3 and it rolled to the cart path on the adjoining Par 5 downhill hole. We all watched as it stayed on the cart path and slowly picked up speed as it rolled in our direction, and then continued down the hill. Luckily it popped off the path into the grass at a turn or it could have rolled another hundred yards. We all had a good time at his expense.

?. I would have laughed my arse off and never let him hear the end of it. In a way, I miss playing with terrible golfers because I never see this kind of stuff anymore. Way back when I started, most of my buddies and I were good for at least one or two LOL-funny shots that became stories for years later. I might have been the best one of all of them with these shots. In fact, the only real golf memory my wife has with me is when I toe slice a ball 60 deg, the ball clocks a tree about 40 yards from the tee box and flies right back at me. I reach my hand out and catch it on the fly, re-teed it and went on my way. My wife couldn’t stop laughing ?

2 days ago. 160 yard up hill par 3, 9th hole. I hit a draw tee shot about 5 feet left of the green. Hits a hard slope and bounces away from the green, through a crushed shell area, over a curb, across the cart path, onto a connecting cart path to hole number 1, turns left, runs down the cart path of hole #1, goes about 50 yards and runs into the rough. I now have a 70 yard pitch back up over some trees to the 9th hole. I leave my pitch just short of the green, chip on and the it lips out from 20 yards away, sink the putt for a bogey. I'll take it, even though I missed the green on the tee shot by no more then a few feet.

The next guy to tee off had already hit his tee shot before my tee ball had come to rest.

In a college tournament a guy I was paired with smoked one off the tee, hit an Indian statue and wound up behind us. I asked him and the starter if I was up or if he was away.

I was once playing with a guy who on the first tee (short par 4 with all sets of tees on one tee box) hit a low screamer from the white tees, hit the red tee marker directly in front of us, ricochet over our heads into the road immediately behind the tee box (which is OB). One of the funniest shots I've ever witnessed. The kicker is there is traffic light on the road almost right behind the tee box, and there was a line of cars stopped for a red light. Of course he hit one of the cars and the owner pulled over, got out and came running over demanding that whoever hit that shot was paying for damages. Needless to say, the rest of us were halfway down the fairway by the time this transpired, laughing our butts off and anxiously awaiting the results of his re-tee after figuring out his legal liabilities :) !

I played a high school tournament with a guy who did something similar. He toed it so bad it went almost completely 90 degrees, hits the starter shack, bounced on the cart path, kept bouncing, kept bouncing. It finally ended up rolling into the cart barn some 50 yards away.

We had no idea what to do. The coaches determined it was OB so he could re-tee (which was probably better than where he would have had to drop?). Still one of the worst shots I've ever seen!

Lol. This guy was still in bounds, if I remember right he was a freshman who had played his way into the 1 spot and he was clearly uncomfortable. I was intent on making him more uncomfortable and he was quickly eliminated on the first tee. Not sure what he made, but he was obviously done. The statue he hit was a tree in previous years, but had died or been hit by lightning or something and they had a gorgeous Indian statue carved out of it.

I've posted this story before, but I played a round once where a guy hit 3 wood off the tee, had it hit a tee marker and bounce back into the forest behind the tee box. He went in there and played it from the forest and had to hack out.

So he was hitting his third shot on a par 4 from BEHIND the tee box

Saw this happen in the group in front of me before, except it came backwards into our fairway, about 50 yards behind the teebox he was on. He actually played a nice shot from there.

OP's story is way better than mine though, that's hilarious! Would be hard to ever live that one down.

Few years ago, a guy that plays once or twice per year used a hybrid on our first hole of a scramble. He got under it in such a way that it went forward about three feet, flew back about a foot high, due to the extreme backspin, about six feet and then came forward to rest two feet from his original position, all on the same line. He is my bank rep so I didn't say anything.

What did he get on the hole?

A double. He was frazzled after the tee shot.

Played at Harding Park last year and we got paired with a couple of older locals. On the 12th hole(?), slight dog leg left, one guy pulled his tee shot and hit a tree branch and the ball ricocheted straight back at him, cleared him by a few metres and landed on the back of the tee. He didn't see the ball hit the tree and thought it was someone else's ball and wasn't happy that they didn't yell fore. Couldn't believe it when he went back and it was his ball. He pulled his next shot and hit the start of the steel fence running along the boundary and the ball did the same thing but this time it ended up in the rough behind the tee so he was playing 3 out of the rough about 20 metres behind the tee markers. There was a group on the green behind us who saw the whole thing as well. He eventually saw the funny side of it with 7 others almost crying we were laughing so much.
