USPS taking longer to deliver than usual?

USPS is terrible IMO! If I want to mail a letter to my next door neighbor it has to go 100 miles north first!

 

However, never has anything if recieved or shipped out been damged or lost...so that's pretty good. As far as delays and such, the package pretty much always arrives a day AFTER the expected delivery date.

 

Mail a letter to your neighbor? Does it get delivered the next day? Got any scans from the last time you had a late parcel delivery? What zip code are you in? When I hear âalwaysâ from a disgruntled USPS customer I tend to think they are just piling on with letâs hate the USPS posts. Iâm retired now but might be able to shed some light on delays if you like.

9405809699937320969896 Was a big screw up somewhere between IN and CA. Maybe weather or transportation issues but USPS really dropped the ball on this one for sure.

A lot of people may still think Priority Mail is 2 days but can actually be more depending on Origin and Destination. Of these 3, the first one looks like a royal screw up. The 2nd one possibly but I'm thinking weather delay. One other thing I should mention. Most over the road transportation is by contract drivers. Some of these drivers cancel during bad weather so the mail is stuck along the way. This was my biggest frustration when I was Plant Manager. My employees came to work for the most part and then we had failures due to cancelled contract runs.

 

Yeah I understand priority is 2-3 day, and actually prefer USPS and historically have had great luck, last 2-3 months a complete different story though. Every package has had issues of the 6 or so shipping and receiving.

 

Even the one ending in 311 above took 4 days, originally had an expected delivery that was supposed to be 2 days.

s*** happens. Also it's been winter the past 2-3 months and the weather sucks.

If you need to file a complaint do not call nor write a letter. They don't care. They only way to get things to improve is to file a complaint online. They have to follow up on the online complaint whereas a phone call will just result in them writing down your address and contact info. Sure they will ask the carrier what happened with the package but they don't have to pursue it further.

I had a shipment last week that took about 30 hours to go 30 miles away. Then it went 2500 miles in 17 hours. It still got delivered in 3 days, just seems weird to me that certain parts of the process take as long as they do.

Item purchased on feb. 25 received dallas 13 days ago, accepted plano tx 12 days ago, in transit to next facility 9 days ago, expected delivery march 1. Always interesting to see where my things end up next.

Happening to me now.

 

 

 

Bought a putter shaft from Putter Lounge. As you can see, shipped quick but then just stopped in Denver. I called USPS yesterday, no clue where it’s at, was told it’s “delayed and in transit”. They couldn’t tell me more than what the internet said. Filed my complaint with USPS today online. It’s ridiculous. So my putter shaft is somewhere between CLE and DEN.

 

My guess is they brought back the Pony Express and it’s currently on a wagon crossing the Great Plains. I really hope the driver doesn’t get diphtheria.

The last three packages I ordered are/were delayed/late. All were shipped via USPS Priority. This is getting old.

Shipping out of DFW area...several boxes getting torn up in Coppell, TX main facility. May sit there for 3 days. Shipping CA got there in 2 days. Wichita Falls, TX 4 days. FL about 3-5 days depending on east/west coast of state. Anything north 1-2 weeks...even when it is not snowing.

 

I have had packages leap frog others going to the same state or even a few miles apart. USPS is sucking wind and getting worse. Been switching to FedEx and UPS ground...takes longer but still quicker than USPS at times...ground beats priority...yeech.

Under Business Mailers the last link is to a XLS file that has the listing of all issues currently affecting delivery. I use it to update customers when I ship to snowbound areas.

Usps service and tracking goes in spurts of really good and really bad but the packages show up 99% of the time. Just hang in there
