I’d love to figure out how it happened...I DVR’d a tournament last year and the entire commentator audio was gone when I played it back. The on course sounds and conversations were clear as day and you heard stuff from the players you’d never hear unless you were at the tournament...some of the cutaways were odd but having no commentary was awesome. Need to figure out how to eliminate one of the audio channels or something. Someone on here must work in the field and know how.

Love Zinger in general, but he hasn't yet shown he has the command or original vision to be the next likeable badass in the booth. Networks want eyeballs and ratings. Responsible controversy backed up by fact and imagination are the keys. Should be Brandel. No question.

It’s not that easy to produce a consistent stream of blather that people want to hear for 3-4 hours. Zinger didn’t have a ton of experience coming into this gig, maybe he’ll get better. He may be trying too hard to say something memorable with some of his dopey comments.

Absolutely love him! I’ve never understood people complaining over the announcers and petty things. I love this advice “don’t complain about anything ever not even to yourself”.

The level of hatred spewed at these announcers is disturbing. Most of these people have played this game at the highest level and have a wealth of knowledge. Some of you don’t appreciate it or want to hear it, but the average viewer gains insite into what goes on in golf at the highest level. I hope you don’t expose your family and coworkers to such rants, show some kindness and understanding.........your life will be more pleasant.

I've experienced this quite a bit on the Golf Channel on FiOS. For some reason they had the secondary language flagged as primary but the GC didn't have a 2nd language stream. So you'd get all the audio except the commentary unless you changed the language over to English. They seem to have fixed that this year as I've only seen it happen on some of their commercials.

 

Another way if you have a surround sound setup is to just kill the center channel, that's where all the commentary audio is contained.

I should have said a good guy in the booth. I know nothing about him outside of the booth. But I always enjoyed him during golf coverage. That and Curtis saying 8 arn instead of iron. Lol

This has nothing to do with it. Azinger isn’t good, and I’m allowed to say that. And him spouting nonsense doesn’t give insight to anybody. “He needed more club. He should have hit more club, or hit that club harder.”

I enjoyed it when he thought that everyone on the first page of the leaderboard was tied for the lead.
