Ari,

Do you let the rust run wild or do you manage the patina in any way?

Just saw a hint of rust starting to develop on my NCW set, which have only seen indoor use this winter, and am thinking of options once they touch a real blade of grass.

Mike.

I let the rust run wild personally. If it gets to be too much I might rub them down a little with some oooo steel wool.

Do you oil them first or just go to town with the steel wool?

I like the aged patina look, but don’t want the rust ‘barnicles’ hanging off the heads.

Put a little oil on the steel wool and rub lightly.

The engraving on those irons is just sick.  I'm working on a set of NCW blades w some CP engraving.  Not sure what I'm gonna do w those specific irons I might shaft them up w some sick BB&F Co ferrules and black shafts and sell them.  Not sure yet.

New putter cover made by Scott Readman out of the flag from the 9th hole at Sweetens Cove the day I walked 146 holes out there for charity.

It's doing great flood water is gone course is looking good. Sweetens just signed up some new investors including Peyton Manning and Andy Roddick and the future is VERY bright!

Not sure if you'll have time. But if you make it over there, another fun 9 hole course is at The University of the South in Sewanne. Gil Hanse redesigned it in 2013 and its a good little track. Shouldn't be much more than 1/2 hour away from Sweetens Cove.

I've played Sewanee a few times. My son and I won a tournament that was 9 at Sweetens and 9 at Sewanee. Fun course too but not quite in the same league as Sweetens.

Couple tweaks. Back to 5 deep and Titleist Tour 915F 21*. Also reshafted my Tour Hexperimental Betti QB10 2 a BGT Stability and throwing it in the bag. One of my close friends stole my SWAG putter and the Artisan needs a rest for a min.

I think I am going back to the regular Epic Flash Sub Zero over the Triple Diamond. I like the look better at address and I seem to be more consistent with it.

Also picked up a sick Louisville Golf oversize persimmon proto that I dub "The Scotsman". Will get a little bag time for fun rounds.

I think Scotland is about as groovy as it gets tbh.... Favorite place in the world.

Yes the sole art is absolutely inspired by Dave Wood and the great Wood Bros Texan, All American etc.

Club is awesome too. Played 207 holes in 3.5 days and my lowest round was w The Scotsman. Best shot of the trip was a little punch Scotsman that dunked off the pin to 6" on a 215y par 3 into a massive wind.

Oops, yes, Wood, not Woods.

Lovely looking club, especially the grain and dark stain that allows us to see the grain. Does not having any grooves on the face make any difference at all? Lower spin?

Yes the lack of grooves is designed to lower spin. I'm going to get on Trackman one of these days and get my numbers w the Scotsman and my Epic Flash SZ.
