DIAMANTE RENTALS CABO

JMO TO

Recommended Posts

Has anyone rented a house or unit at Diamante through VRBO or HOMEAWAY? There are a bunch of options, but am wary as I have never rented a timeshare before. Most state that there is either golf access or free golf.

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

THANKS!!!!

I use to work at Diamante as an assistant golf professional. Every owner/member has their own contract with different golf privileges. Make sure you find out if you do get golf or if you'll have to pay per round. The golf courses are some of the most amazing I've ever seen! And the property/staff is the best around, they will make you feel at home.

Double check on golf privileges. Even if you don't get free golf. Paying for a round at each course would be worth it.

I stayed at the hilton so not sure about the time shares. I just played there Thursday and played both courses. You won't be regret it but, man it was super windy when we played. I recommend playing dunes early it gets more windy the later in the day it seems.

Thanks! Is there a Hilton that is part of the Diamante resort, or is that the Hilton Los Cabos (and they were able to secure tee times)?

It definitely looks like each one has different rights. Some have free rounds on Dunes, some on El Cardonal (between 6-10 rounds a week) some have 1/2 price golf, etc.

Look to favor rounds on the Dunes course, El Cardonal is good. But everyone remembers the Dunes- #1 course in Latin America.

Agree if you can play both do both but, Dunes was amazing and I'm not a DL3 course fan. We had 40+mph wind and I played amazing so that made it that much more fun. Also made birdie on the 292 yard par3.

We went through my boss who knew the developer for our tee times.

If I pull the trigger, I'll be paying as many 36 hole days as possible. Does the anyone know if the resort has any access to outside courses? If so, which ones would you recommend?

I know this is an old thread, but that simply is not true. I go to Cabo often and play lots of very good courses. We rent a house.

That's not what I posted. My post; " I go to Cabo often and play lots of very good courses. We rent a house."

Cabo Ocean is open to the public so it doesn't matter where you play. There are several very good courses not on your list.

Cabo del Sol Ocean is going private soon (think they're targeting Feb 2020) and it is being renamed the Cove Club. Also heard they ruined the closing holes but it isn't back open yet. Desert will still be public.

That is sad. Cabo del Sol Ocean is one of my all time favorite courses. Without the closing ocean holes it will lose lots of stature.

The Desert course isn't even close to as good.

Not the least bit surprising that I think the Desert course is a far better actual golf course. The views aren't as good for sure. The actual design is better though and it really isn't even close. Ocean has about 6 really good holes. Desert at least 12.

Twin Dolphin definitely requires a stay at Montage. I’m told by people that work in the industry down there that there have been almost no exceptions to that so far. Guys that can get on every other course with a quick phone call have had to stay at Montage to try it out. I haven’t played there yet either.

Honestly, even as a full member (not rights when visiting via fractional ownership) at Diamanté it is not always easy and automatic to get on other places. Cabo is great but it definitely not an easy place to course hop. Thats ok by me as I’m happy where we are but it should be considered when trying to organize a golf trip there.

I’m told no on the Sheraton by a buddy of mine that owns a house there now but I don’t know if he’s assuming or knows that for a fact.

Down at our condo in Cabo for 2-5 weeks now (haven’t decided how long yet) and Diamante is taking this as seriously as we could ask for. Our family feels safe and we like how safe the wonderful people working here seem to be as well with face shields and sanitizer everywhere. Really impressed with everything here and how everyone is making the best out of a bad situation.
