Mizuno MP650 is the real deal

I've yet to find a good replacement for mine but there's a 10.5º version in wrappers in a store and I've thought about buying it just in case. I did move away from the 3 and 5 woods last year and replaced them with a 4 wood though.

2017 MP Type I (JDM) or the new ST 190 would do it. Have the Type I, it's a solid replacement to the 650. Still use #3 in the 650.

The MP 2017 JDM are slick. JDM always looks slicker IMO

The Type I is a dead knockoff of the TM R510 TP looks wise, it's a classy, classy club. More forgiving than the 650, the real bugaboo is getting the right shaft since you cannot demo day it. I went with AD TP 60S......70S would have been better but I love the thing, might play around and go Fuji, maybe go full homage to 510 and do Speeder 757, lol. The ST 190 is extremely similar and a better buy with real demo available.

I always thought the Type I and II were a combination of MP-650 and JPX 850. Unfortunately the latter is the latest Mizuno driver I've had a change to demo. But I've tried most others, the Callaways, TMs, Cobras, Srixons but none have really outperformed the 650 and all have felt worse (except for the i15 I had before the 650).

The club is a beaut! I built my bag around the 4 hybrid. Going to have a go at the driver and Woods again.

I just picked up a brand new MP 650 5 wood. I couldn't let it pass!

 

It may not find a forever spot in my bag but interested to see how it stacks up against my Titleist 3 wood.

Wow minty...never got to try it...still have my driver and hybrid. Love the hybrid and the driver (like most drivers) is a on-off love-hate relationship

Interesting. I have an MP650 driver head sent over from Japan, sitting in bubble wrap. I’ve never hit it. Maybe I should put a shaft in it!
